Guest guest
Soon EVERYONE will have to work for a Giant corporation, and eventually ONE PERSON will RUN THE WORLD. Please, everyone, vote for me! i want to be that one person who rules the world. Then i can tell all of my subjects to read the Bhagavad Gita and learn not to look out of self but within, where God is...Not to rail at others but to accept the fascinating world we live in....not to think "my vote counts" but to realize that what good i do today is what counts for the sake of humanity and Godliness....not to condemn, criticize, or gawk at others, but to offer help and laughter and kindness....not to be angry without reminding self "I can be angry but I must temper my expression by conducting communion with God within; towards finding the perfect and beneficial expression of my emotion that will be constructive, not destructive, when the current tide has changed...not to see others as greater or lesser than i am, but to thank God for providing me companions of all kinds on this Earth.....not to bemoan that my countrymen do nothing for others, but to do something for others myself each day, even if merely a daily computer click to give food to the starving, such as can be done at www.thehungersite.com And then I will, as Leader of the World, ask all of my people to follow this philosophy from now on: TO THINE OWN SELF BE TRUE... I'll ask my people to realize no-one else but self can be true to self. Concerning the other people who are outside of oneself, I will ask my subjects to realize and allow each one of those to be true to himself/herself! Furthermore, I will command each one of my world peoples to follow my ONE law: AFTER KNOWING ONESELF, LOVING ONESELF, AND BEING TRUE TO ONESELF, LOVE ONE ANOTHER. Guest guest
Kahlil Gibran spoke through Pearls keyboard, and I read it, and I agree, and for those reasons, today I am weak, for I had to take a stand, I felt, both against Dinanath, and against GWB, neithe of which do I want to do. Guess what, right after writing those things about the US and it's power, might, military, etc., and feeling so much anger towards this huge military industrial oil complex that is about to kill people, again... I walked next door and was introduced to my daughters new, more very serious than ever, boyfriend, who has JUST JOINED THE ARMY and goes off to boot camp very soon. I went home and cried. My daughter, the one person near me, my helper, who knows me so well, finally finds a guy she likes, and he's joining the army, which is verily, INCREDIBLY DIFFICULT for me to support. Oh God. Life is cruel. So here I am raking my heart and ethics in every way, scraping the corners for the ability to go on. It's so hard. I find however, it is like Kurukshetra. We HAVE TO take sides. Ultimately, we have to. This is Krishna's message. You have to take sides, but you have to be true to yourself. Whatever is the natural impulse of your dharma, you have to do that. When I rake myself over, and search my heart thoroughly, I find that I love people who GIVE themselves to service on behalf of the natural masses, that is, life itself. Therefore, I find and condemn the usual lineup of enemies, which are lust, anger, greed, and so forth. Kam, Krodh, Lobh, as Indians say, lust anger greed. Of all, I find Greed the root. Greed means: "I have no faith in the process of life, no faith in my brothren, no faith in God, THEREFORE, I am going to steal, hoard, lie, cheat, whatever, to feather my own nest. This is greed. It is based on fear, which is based on ignorance of divine reality. So I do not like it when people go about their activities in an insincere way, to get money. For example, to promote "foods" sold today, such as McDonalds hamburger joints, or candy which isn't even fresh, full of chemicals, etc., these kinds of businesses that just for money put poison in food so that it has "Shelf Life", which really means, they WANT TO outsell and undo LOCAL food producers everywhere, with their CHEAPLY priced but DEADLY foods, THEY are at fault, and should change. There is many similar examples. AOL is another fine one. They even now have FREE CD's in the US Post Offices. You go into this government office, and there's a pretty rack giving you FREE CD's of AOL, latest version. NOBODY ELSE can afford to do that, so they are undercutting EVERYBODY ELSE, and there's this ONE GUY at the top, and he buys Netscape, he buys into Time/Warner/Disney etc., he's RAKING IN DOUGH LIKE CRAZY and DOESN"T CARE that he is ruining life for thousands of people who are his dinky little competitors. Similarly Starbucks Coffee, cares about PROFIT and not local culture. They ruin the local coffee shop business everywhere, same with Borders and Barne's and Nobles book stores- shutting down small book stores all across America. Soon EVERYONE will have to work for a Giant corporation, and eventually ONE PERSON will RUN THE WORLD. This is the way it is going you see. Corporations and Profit and Greed are AT LOSE AND AT LARGE, armed and dangerous, and destroying cultures forever. This was Rome too. Because of the same thing..centralization of power and money, Brother Julius RUINED numerous lands and cultures, all for Roman profit. By the time Rome was really rolling EVERY MAN found his best opportunities in being a soldier. It's getting that way now. They appeal to young poor people by saying "You're gonna get a great job", and then off they go to fight wars for rich corporations, using nationalistic sentiments and male pride to capture these boys, like my daughters boyfriend now (ARGH!) It encroaches upon me more and more. Like corporate greed, Hare Krishna forgot that it's about loving service, and it became the corporation for God, where you have to bow to be saved, or you don't get a job. It's another total Hedgemony of Divinity attempt. It doesn't matter that Robert, Myself, Laksmi, etc., Hansadutta, GAVE OUR LIVES for many years in great austerity to build it, no, the current residents are taught that they alone are holier than the rest of us. It really needs to grow up. Loving myself means loving that I am these things. These are my reality. I hear sometimes things like Kahlil Gibran saying what he says, but you cannot act from that platform. You ultimately HAVE TO DO SOMETHING on one side or the other. Jesus spoke like that, but had to say NO to Roman disciples. He told his disciples to preach only to Jews. Paul had to beg James for the right to preach to non-jews, and who knows if James and the others just feard Paul, which is believeable. I am religious and kind, and people come and cajole me with their plans, and I just say "Great, go for it", but I don't mean it, I just want to get them out of my face because their agenda is unchangeable in them and they are asking me to leach off me only. This was probably what James felt too. Jesus was VERY CLEAR about this matter. So Kahlil Gibran, how did he live? He lived in some borders, some land, ate some food, and that came from somewhere. It's true what Pearl posted, totally true, and the wise all know it to be so, but they have to act, have to take some stand, somehow, and stuff happens from that. Like, Gandhi tried to be like that, but the fact is, others were not ready, and wanted partition, and as it happened, many died in the process. It's unavoidable until we are ALL like that. Therefore I fight for that. I fight for that kind of spirituality. In fact, that's WHY I'm into Jyotish. Because, MORE THAN ANYTHING it proves how interrelated we all are. We are all in one bundle of worms, when one moves, we all feel it, we are all squirming together. But we have to squirm in some direction, it's a must. We cannot sit idle and just be equal always. Nothing will happen. This is the message of the Gita. It points to you alone, and says, YOU have to do what YOU have to do and YOUR only solace will be how strongly YOU love me, God, in your heart as you do it. YOUR only solace will be how strongly YOU are serving the ONE, the ALL, the WHOLE. Arjuna shot his own Grandfather full of arrows in that battle. He HAD TO. That hurt him TREMENDOUSLY. His GURU TOO. This is WHY he collapsed. HE HAD TO FIGHT HIS OWN RELATIVES. It hurt him SO badly, because he was SO GOOD all of his life and loved them. But they sided wrongly, and he had to do what he had to do (they sided wrongly to him, rightly to them). In this way, we also have to know that we are the evolution right now. Our bodies and actions ARE the evolution of spirit and our species. We roll over and over and come back and back. The aim is selfless action for the whole, and when our bliss is there, it will never end, because that never ends. That is the real reason and use and purpose of this list, to increase the ONENESS amongst us all. I am glad I'm here. I cried alot today, after my posts. I cried alot. Peace to you all, Roik macAeoi Raghunandan das Das Goravani
Guest guest
Dear Das My view is that it is not fair to make sweeping generalisations and disparaging comments about others whilst at the same time pleading for sensitivity .
