Guest guest
Hello Robyn: Is "Jyotishdiscovery.com" your website? I've read each and every article posted on this board. I think I read Jay Wiess' article in Kal-Sarpa-Yog and learned a lot about KSY. I think I read Sanjay's article of Ista-Devta as well which was very comprehensive. The main proble I see with Vedic astro article is that they are not comprehensive, they superficially tought on the subject and leave the reader wanting for more. Robyn, if you're interested in astro article, there is a website named "indianest.com" this website has a lot of article by a Vedic astrologer named Rohini Ranjan Bose, his articles are so comprehensive and deep that they just blew my mind--they're a must reading for Vedic astrology enthusiast. Guest guest
Dear Michael, Yes, that was one of the first websites I found in my early searches for good material on Jyotish. I too found that frustration of not finding enough indepth material before my books arrived. I think Bose's work is superb. Unfortunately, the restrictions of the www in formulating pages that go on forever is one of the drawbacks of the web as far as articles go. For instance, one by Marc Boney which I am *still* posting up was 52 pages long so I divided it into sections. The website is relatively young as websites go, but will hopefully become a major resource for Jyotish scholars. Dr David Goldstein's work for instance, he's on the front page, is superb if you want a more academic/western insight into the use of Jyotish in contemporary American society. Gamini Dissanayake's Starscope which goes up every week also gives you a free weekly insight into what's happening in your horoscope and although not indepth, it is fun and gives one a reminder of what's happening. I hope to get Prash Trivedi's work up there soon as soon as I get the time. He wrote the brilliant book on Rahu and Ketu (one of the first I ever read) and has offered his work as well for Jyotish Discovery (sorry about the plug Das, I am sure you won't mind). If I had more people around the world who were prepared to act as 'stringers' I could really turn in into a *proper* online magazine to keep people up to date on the news aspects of Jyotish. Perhaps this will come one day. I have financed it all myself and there are no sponsors yet so I cannot pay writers and this has been the big drawback. Perhaps this too will change one day. I hope your studies go well. This minor disturbance we have been witnessing I have witnessed a hundred times over as an international editor of print publications so its nothing new and nothing to get too excited about. If it were not for the pain it has caused so many people, it would even be amusing. Good luck Robyn - "monmuk111" <monmuk111 <gjlist> Thursday, October 03, 2002 11:38 PM [GJ] Robyn , regarding your website > Hello Robyn: > > Is "Jyotishdiscovery.com" your website?
