Guest guest
In spite of there being lines in ones hand that bespeak of ones destiny, I have found that doing "instant astrology"; such one can do on a portable or palm computer to wow and amazing one's friends with; is ultimately harmful to one's business. If you can get an answer right away to people's problems, it takes away from the mystique that forms in people's minds about astrology. One part of astrology (but not all, of course) is cultivating an aura of "mystery" about your work; people just go wild over that stuff. If you take away that mystery by having a pat (and sometimes disappointing) answer instantly, then people don't go through with the appointment as much. Jyotish does not get a chance to do its "stuff". I thought those palm top Jyotish programs were extremely cool myself until I nearly lost a client recently by doing too much free astrology up front. Result: net gain for the palmtop industry, net loss for the astrology industry. Just a little Pearl of Wisdom Ganesh threw my way.....
