Das,

If you are planning on doing segments that are about 30-45 mins long, you can

use the CD-R cutters

to cut a CD that will play as a DVD (It just doesn;t have the multilevel

recording / compression and can't

do 1 1/2 - 2 1/2 hour segments. Since the DVD recorders are +$500 USD and the

CD-R are closer to

$75 USD, not to mention the media ($5+ vs $0.50 / shot), I think you would be

better off with multiple CD's

vs one DVD.

My $0.02

Strange but stupid:

"One of the main causes of the fall of the Roman Empire was that, lacking zero,

they had no way to indicate successful termination of their C programs"

(Weren't Roman C programs always 500 lines long?)

Buy a Mac and just do your work on it. It will build BOTH Mac and PC

formats

OUT-OF-THE-BOX. The "superdrive" is fantastic.

Best regards,

[GJ] DVD Recording Input/Help ?

Hi

I'm getting ready to include DVD format in my future work. I have much of

what is needed, computer, blank DVD's, authoring knowledge and software, but

I lack a couple things:

DVD recorder for my computer

DVD mastering software?

>From what I can tell, my version 5 of Adobe Premierre doesn't make the

necessary video folder for DVD format.

So I think I need a piece of software, and a recorder. I've looked into it,

and recorders aren't that much.

However, I've come to realize over time that often we have stuff we're not

using, many of us, in this business. So does anyone have a DVD recorder they

aren't using and no longer want? My Mac can handle PC format (IDE) drives.

Then the software, anyone know what to do if you're using Premierre, or does

anybody have a copy of Apple's HIGH END DVD authoring software they can part

with?

Also, any input on this subject on Macintosh appreciated. Sometimes pointers

can save us from exploring useless paths in the labyrinth of life.

Hey dude,

Remember the above?

I have a CD burner of course, and Toast for Mac, which burns DVD's, and

everything else, Video CD, what have you...

Do I need something to do the above, that I DON'T HAVE ?

What exactly does one need?

I'm looking at options right now. I got many hours of video lectures from

Scandinavian tour to put out, want to do it cheaply, so burning my own CD's

is attractive.

I may just make Quicktime movies, then convert to .avi for PC, which I can

do already with my gear/software currently owned.

What do you think of just having CD's with a list of movies on them. I know

it's basic, but it works, right?

Any thoughts, simple input, simple red flags, do's and don't, appreciated,

no dissertation required, just off head top stuff (but keep what hair you

have, I have plenty of that.. ;-)

And about that smiley Reiki chick you got living with you, well, I'll never

turn down a Reiki Gift Horse! But I am doing pretty good. But support is

also always good. I'm always riding fast forward, so it's good to have the

well wishes of others.

Reiki has to be reciprocated. We'll see, how can that be done? I'm so

selfish, it's hard for me to let go of anything. Kinda. Kinda not true at

all. Weird. Life is weird.

Don't know what to say. Right NOW I'm really happy. Surprisingly. My head is

just coming together. Accepting my reality is opening the FLOOD gates of

creativity in me. The lamenting had them closed for years.

Weird.
