Guest guest
Vyam Vyaasadevaaya Namah Dear Chrys333, However that is. Brihat Samhita, by Varahamihira talks extensively about the sightings of eclipses and their effects. Allthough that book is VERY heavy on the mind, its the best source for learning about such things as natural disasters and mundane events. Best wishes, Visti. - "Chris Hanlon" <chrys333 (AT) attbi (DOT) com> <gjlist> Sunday, September 22, 2002 3:34 AM [GJ] Eclpses > There are a lot of eclipses. Guest guest
Ok. I'll go find the book, and attempt to read it. I have to say that I have many books I have yet to read because they always contain too much information. When there are too many things to consider everything starts canceling itself out, and I get overwhelmed. I find that a discussion that includes all the information put in context of people's lives, and weaving a pattern of significance in all the threads is best for me. Something can be said in a posting, that is short, to the point, and can be pondered and filed away with understanding in a way reading a book, will not. I still can't get through Houck's Astrology of Death, or the only B.V. Raman's book I have,, or DeFeow(sp?)'s synastry book. Gads. Let alone all the divisional charts and the information that impinges on the Rasi, etc. I am rambling. Much thanks, chrys333
Guest guest
Eclipses are alignments. They are the HIGHEST and STRONGEST luni/solar/earth alignments. Last night was a full moon. It was across my 6/12 I think. I suffered like hell. If it was across someone's 1/7, that would be way different. Understand this point fully then know eclipses represent a debilitated effect on one of the 3 planets, a total shadow cast. It's not so hard. Guest guest
Dear Chris Here are some simple things I've learned. I know, you expect simplicity from me by now. A wily old western astrologer Buz Myers said this: A north nodal eclipse gives and a south nodal eclipse takes something away that needed to be taken. I've found this to be true with clients and my own chart. I will ad that a Ketu (SN) eclipse often bring anxiety to a planet that Ketu transits. I've also noticed that Rahu brings some sort of frustration because you're not getting what you want!!! Folks are usually not very triggered by an eclipsein their own charts UNLESS they were born on an eclipse or with a planet tightly linked to one of the nodes. FOr this group you never know what an eclipse might bring. It could bring a great job or take one away without any apparent rhyme or reason. Watch the path of the eclipse. You can look really clever if you see a hot-spot in the world and also see aneclipse will cross over that area. Folks are still impressed that I picked out the day the hostages in the Philippines were both released and killed. I just noticed that things were heating up there and picked the day of the eclipse that passed over that part of the world. Not bragging, just being observant. I do not see eclipses as bad. If there is one with a lot of planets with it there is often earthquake activity but not always. I don't recall any last May with the whole lineup. Then again, the last big earthquake in CA was the day of an eclipse with several planets tightly aligned, I think that was about January '94. Back To Buz Myers: "For ever king that lost his throne during an eclipse another ascended to take it." Simply put, for every loss there is a gain. Now the question of world events comes to the foreground: The eclipse path goes across Australia and southern Africa, any speculation? Could tribal disputes heat up again? Could more land be seized? I'm afraid that Australia is so good at being out of the news that I have no idea there. Perhaps Nicholas or others can share? cynthia - "Chris Hanlon" <chrys333 <gjlist> Saturday, September 21, 2002 8:34 PM [GJ] Eclpses > There are a lot of eclipses. The total eclipse passes through outback Australia in December .Since this is where the native people have their land it is an interesting idea that this may bring some issues in relationship to the Native Australians . It doesn't seem to touch any sensitive points in the natal chart so I am not thinking it will have any major effect . Yes the news is pretty quiet down here . Kind regards Nicholas
