Guest guest
A Tale of Two Horoscopes Monday, July 22, 2002 All, The following are a few thoughts on 2 charts that I have in my possession, both belonging to females who both happen to be born in the year 1970. The reason why I present these charts is to demonstrate the fact that often, little changes in a chart can make the biggest differences in terms of results. Both women have Cancer rising, the Moon in Libra and Saturn in Aries (Moon in 4, Saturn in 10) – but that is where the similarity ends. Let me give the planetary positions along with some of these ladies’ backgrounds, and then we’ll get to the charts: Lady A Asc 24 Can 49 Sun 18 Sag 47 Moon 13 Lib 30 Mars 20 Aqr 18 Merc 6 Cap 24 Jup 9 Lib 9 Ven 13 Sag 34 Sat 8 Ari 36 Rx Rahu 21 Aqr 14 Ketu 21 Leo 14 Current Dasa: Venus Lady B Asc 2 Can 14 Sun 9 Sco 55 Moon 5 Lib 58 Mars 29 Vir 47 Merc 26 Sco 6 Jup 26 Lib 42 Ven 16 Lib 50 Rx Sat 24 Ari 32 Rx Rahu 4 Aqr 24 Ketu 4 Leo 24 Current Dasa: Mercury Both of these ladies have the Nodes in the same signs as well, but we’ll soon see, that they will impact one much more so than the other. SOME BACKGROUND Both of these ladies have a few things in common – both have had abortions, both have father issues, both have had their ups and downs relationship-wise. Lady A has 2 kids out-of-wedlock, by different fathers; Lady B has no kids. Lady A works for a very prestigious law firm and has been there since the mid 90s; Lady B owns her own business. Lady A is a college dropout, Lady B is a college graduate. Both are artistic – Lady A is an aspiring writer, Lady B is heavily into music and art. Further, both charts have a pretty strong angular planetary presence, namely, the fact that Asc Lord Moon is in the 4 associated with Jupiter, which gives rise to Gaja-Kesari Yoga; but the quality of this yoga, among others will make a huge difference between the 2 charts. THE ROLE OF KUJA DOSHA Upon deeper inspection of both these charts, it is plain to see that Lady A’s chart is much more problematic in the area of relationship than Lady B’s, and this is due in large measure to the presence of Kuja Dosha in the chart. While not recurring from the Moon and Venus Ascendants, Mars’ placement in the 8 house from the natal Asc, along with other factors, make this a major stumbling block in this woman’s life. Note that very close conjunction of Mars with Rahu, both in Saturn’s sign Aquarius, while their dispositor Saturn is placed in Aries and is retrograde. Yes, Jupiter’s aspect on both Mars and Rahu would make one think that this condition is modified somewhat, until you take into consideration the fact that, from both the Asc and the Moon, Jupiter does more harm than good, as it rules Trik houses from both positions. Jupiter’s ability to do good is further hampered due to the aspects it receives from Saturn and Rahu – two malefics bearing down on the Great Benefic Jupiter in essence also turns him towards “evil” as well. Therefore, Jupiter’s aspect on the Mars/Rahu combo in the 8 only heightens the things we already saw. The result was that this woman has never had a long-term relationship, and as mentioned earlier, she has had 2 kids as a result. If we look at Lady B’s chart, we see again the role of Saturn as lord of the 7, no doubt a problematic situation insofar as relationships are concerned, but the absence of KD greatly modifies her situation. The fact that Venus in this chart is placed in its own sign helps things a great deal, and its association with 2 other benefics, the Moon and Jupiter, promise at least the strong potential of relationship happiness. Go back to Lady A’s chart and note that Venus is poorly placed both by house (6) and by the fact that it is burnt up by the Sun and aspected by Ketu. Lady B’s 7 house is also free from affliction, in that it is not hemmed in by malefics, but this is not so for Lady A. ABORTIONS Both have Rahu in the 8, which, if seen from the view of the Moon, now becomes the 5 house; this is a no-brainer for the potential for abortions. However, Lady A’s chart is much stronger in this respect, as we can see that Mars plays a very strong role in that it rules the 5 from the Asc; 5 lord from the Moon is Saturn for both charts, but again, in the first case we can see that, because of the nature of the relationship between Mars and Saturn (they exchange houses), we can safely say that this woman may have had more than one abortion. She did. Lady B, as far as I know, has only had one, and that was recently (sub-period of Rahu in the major period of Mercury; note that Mercury, a barren planet, is in the 5). FATHERS Both women have heavily afflicted 9 houses – both are hemmed in by malefics, and both have the 9 lord Jupiter aspected by both Saturn and Rahu. But again, upon further inspection, we would have to say that Lady A’s relationship (or the lack thereof) with her father would be much more tenuous, for we can see in her chart, that the Sun is poorly placed in the 6 and 9 lord from the Moon (Mercury) is hemmed in by malefics in the 7 and aspected by Saturn. Saturn and Rahu also aspects the 9 from the Moon, which happens in both charts, but again, the “extras” we see in Lady A’s chart is much more pronounced. EDUCATION Both have attended college, but as pointed out earlier, one dropped out and the other graduated. Lady A’s 2 lord of education is in the 6, while 2 lord from the Moon is conjunct Rahu; both Education Planets, Mercury and Jupiter, are greatly harmed by malefics. In Lady B’s case, 2 lord Sun is in the 5, along with Mercury, and Jupiter is associated with Venus (she went to school for music-related subjects). CAREER Now this gets tricky, because both women have Saturn in the 10 house, which would normally lead one to think that career prospects for both wouldn’t be that strong. However, when we consider combinations that break debility, we see that this exists in the case of Lady B, and not in the case of Lady A. In the former case, Venus, the planet that rules Saturn’s exaltation sign, is placed in angle from both the Moon and Asc; further, this placement of Venus gives rise to Malavya Yoga, a powerful Raj-Yoga that has been most helpful to this woman in her owning her own business. In the latter case, note how Mars is so badly placed, and so is Venus. In both cases, Saturn gains a modification of its debility, due to it being angular from both the Asc and the Moon in both charts, and to this I would say that it could explain why both are gainfully employed, though one owns her own business and the other does not. Keep in mind that Saturn=servants, and since Lady A’s Saturn does not have the strength that Lady B’s does, she is thus a secetary, a very well paid one, but one nonetheless. I could go on, but I hope that I’ve proven my point – that often, very similar charts can yield very, very vividly different results, if one takes the time out to look more deeply. Any Comments? Questions? Suggestions? Observations? Death Threats? Insults? Salaam, Mu ===== Mu'Min M.
