Guest guest
>Please, do send me several sentences, if possible, about scientific explanation on Ekadashi fasting. Ekadashi happens when sun and moon are at 120 degrees, which is a perfect 5th trine for the Sun being ahead of the Moon. This angle, in Hindu Astrology, is known as the "5th house", each being 30 degrees. This angle is assigned, amongst other things, with ruling creativity, and sports, fun. So this is a pleasurable angle. Scientifically, this angle of seperation of these two luminaries must be such, something special, because the combined gravitational effect on Earth rises the tides, inside us as well. This angle seems to lift the water, and our spirits. If you watch yourself carefully following the Tithis, you may experience, as do others, that Ekadashi is an "intense day". If human society was monitored in the correct way, we could establish that everybody has similar days, as if, we are all traded on the same stock market, each day. Ekadashi is therefore a highly "up" day. The reason therefore that the ancients recomend fasting on this tithi, is to "tone down" your own abilities to enjoy, since they knew, that enjoyment is imbalance, and that there will be too high a price tag, so they circumvented the impulse by fasting from grains and making extra sure to worship vishnu. This is the real reason for the Ekadashi vratta. Other things then naturally sprung up around it, and became myth etc. -- Das Goravani , President 2852 Willamette St, #353 Eugene, Oregon, 97405 USA Voice: or <> Home of "Goravani Jyotish" Vedic Astrology Software , and more...
