Guest guest
Dear Ernst, I read your last mails regarding the Ayanamsa with great interest as it has been a major disputed factor which can have some devastating effects on chart interpretation. An important planet such as the Atmakaraka is on the edge of "landing" in the next sign (example: 29:45 deg.), ultimately becoming the Darakaraka and the following planets become different karakas. I have a number of such charts in my archives INCLUDING MY OWN which I will try to 'put to the test' as it will change the entire chart ... dasa sequence etc. As far as I understand, you use Lahiri minus 23 minutes. Please correct me if I'm wrong. The basic idea is that when Dhruva, the pole point, is exactly opposite the Galactic Center (Joni will like that idea!) the Ayanamsa is 26:40, this happens in the year 2228. We still haven't made all of the astronomical/galactic discoveries neccessary to pinpoint the correct ayanamsa, but with the discovery of the exact center of the galaxy in recent years we can be more accurate than Lahiri. Since we haven't discovered everything to calculate the perfect ayanamsa there is a great chance that this ayanamsa is off by a few minutes due to anomolies that are untrackable right now, but in any case I have found it much better than Lahiri and have great luck using even the Shastiamsa with it.
