Guest guest
Dear Das Goravani, I've just recently become a part of your GJ list online. I've read about what you've written lately, and cannot help but sympathize, because I am in the same shoes as you are. I too, have been living a rather lonely life. I am bi polar, and have found great difficulty living in such a superficial society like good ol' USA. I've thought of suicide, mostly when I was much younger though. After finding God, and reading the Bhagavad Gita, it is impossible for me to even think of suicide. To me, such a thing is like spitting in Sri Visnu's face, telling him I don't accept what path he intends for me. So, I march on, alone or with others, however Sri Visnu wills for me. Most people think there is something wrong with me. They can't comprehend my decisions, or how I live alone with no pain or loneliness. I've joined the Marine Corps, and have volunteered for infantry. On top of that, i'm a team leader in a Recon team, so I am the very first off the ship in the event of a war(as what's going on now). I never go out on liberty, or do anything considered "fun". I do hardly anything for happiness, as my happiness lies in knowing there is something much greater in the afterlife. Noone, not even people who claim to be spiritual, understand this mentality. Only someone like yourself could understand such a mentality. In other words, I don't care if I die, but am psychologically incapable of "self-termination". So i've chosen this path. And in walking this path, i've come across your teachings online. This has changed things drastically for me. It has shown me that perhaps in all this time i've been running away from life, maybe some day I will have something to share with others....in the same way you do, with Vedic knowledge. I still have a lot to learn....A LOT. But let me share this with you, for what it is worth, on your situation: I commend you on your honesty, with yourself, and everyone around you. I've read others' criticism of you. I can somewhat understand where they're coming from, but they are ignoring one important issue. That issue is that in any spiritual organization, or any organization(material or spiritual) a status quo get's developed, a stereo type. And if someone is not that exact type, they are "unenlightened", or not "true" to the organization. And by creating such organizations, people's individual needs get ignored. And most people are too scared to admit this, so they stay where they are. You, on the other hand, admit what it is that you need, and do what you must to take care of yourself. This is more than I can even say for myself. I pray for your finding of love in your life. If there is anyone knows how difficult it is to put one foot in front of the other, without the presence of a woman's love, I am one. Though i've somewhat accepted this cold reality, I would never push my attitudes on anyone. Living a cold dark life is not for anyone, as I don't believe it is for someone as divine as yourself. ( I have way too many planets in Capricorn and Aquarius, so I don't have a choice, do I??....lol) So good luck, and I hope you do find love soon. We all need grounding from somewhere, and love, I believe is the strongest substance for it. And as for anyone who says you must solve all your problems with chanting the Hare Krishna mantra with more feeling and devotion than you have already have expressed in your teachings ***I MEAN NO OFFENSE TO ANYONE HERE*** but we are living in a material world, and we are given impulses by our creator for a reason. So...by all means, follow your heart Das. Perhaps some day even I will have the courage to admit to myself what it is that I really want, without worrying if i'm fulfilling the idealogy of organizations i'm affiliated with. With love and sincerity, A brother Michael Brown, Sgt. USMC
Guest guest
Brother Sgt. Michael, Thank you so much. You must really be something. USMC Recon Front Man. Wow. It's true, there's a similarity there, I'm always on duty, I've always held the flag, I watch my post, very martial, it'snot easily seen, but I have an inner fire and intensity even in my body, to walk like a soldier, always have been on the "God Squad". It is faith in afterlife yes, seeing through the temporary, that drives me. This is true. I think we can, if we all see it, have alot here, and afterlife, its sad that it seems to be one or the other usually. I don't like that. A good society brings them closer together. Other people (who aren't bipo or whatever) would have an easier time going out and being a "part of". I have a hard time doing that because it is so very shallow in general social settings. I don't know what to do to find better. So I just stay home. I used to work, cuzz there was someone around. You have buddies, some commeraderie, I have nobody at all. That's one problem. I have to address this somehow. I never see anybody at all. I know you guys work out alot, that burns off the electricity, I'm sitting in a chair, again not good. I've got everything wrong for being hypo anything. I really need grounding. I'm Aries rising, and with enough fire in the chart to appreciate the military. I commend you for your bravery. Do you have a JPEG of yourself you can send to me please via email? I appreciate your words very much. Thanks. And come back vertical for us, okay? yours always, your brother, -- Das Goravani , President 2852 Willamette St, #353 Eugene, Oregon, 97405 USA Voice: or <> Home of "Goravani Jyotish" Vedic Astrology Software , and more...
