Guest guest
I am reading through the tutorials by shri Narasimha regarding the narayana dasas. I guess because of my limitations, i am unable to clearly understand the dasa counting methods. Again it is purely my limitations and that is the reason for my question. It is clearly given that Aries, taurus, gemin, scorpio, sag and libra are odd footed meaning the dasas are to be calculated in a zodiacal/clockwise fashion starting from them. But, taurus and scorpio are EVEN signs and in another example, in the same tutorial, dasas starting from taurus is shown to be counted in an anticlockwise/zodiacal fashion. Is this a contradiction? While considering these oddfooted signs, even though they are even signs, how do you count? Is it regular or anti zodiacal fashion to determine dasa durations? for eg: scorpio dasa if mars in libra. is it 11 yrs or 1 yr? and for a scorpio ascendant does it progress scorpio, aries, virgo.... or scorpio, gemini, libra...etc. Can somebody please clarify? Guest guest
Vyam Vysadevaya Namah ------------------------------- Dear Vas, The 1st rule you gave relates to Maha Dasas. Antar Dasa's are calculated by seing whether the sign is odd or even.. just like chara dasa. Guest guest
Om Namah Shivaya, Dear Kumaran, The dasa progression is forward or reverse based on the whether the 9th sign from starting rasi is odd-footed(zodiacal) or even footed (anti-zodiacal). Antardasa progression is based on whether the starting rasi is odd rasi(zodiacal) or even rasi(anti-zodical). There is some exception like when Saturn is present in the starting rasi the reckoning is always zodical and When Ketu is present the reckoning is reversed(Veparitam Ketoh principle from Jaimini Upadesa). Please refer to mail vedic astrology/message/1613 for more information. Warm regards S.Prabhakaran Hare Ram Krishna gjlist, "vazhkudai" <vskumaran> wrote: > I am reading through the tutorials by shri Narasimha regarding the > narayana dasas. > > I guess because of my limitations, i am unable to clearly understand > the dasa counting methods.
