Guest guest
Hi All Every now and then I see Goravani lamenting how people are not at all "spiritual" or "enlightened" during this wild and bad Kaliyug. Well considering that "enlightened-ness" of a person can be ascertained based on that person's birth-chart, is it possible that these days we simply are not getting those planetary combinations up in the sky that would cause the child to grow up to be righteous? And if that is the case, all those (and that includes you Das) who are trying to spread the word of the Vedanta are simply wasting their time because most of the people alive today simply don't have it in their Dharma to get attracted to this knowledge? Even if you insist that you simply cannot help spreading the Vedic knowledge, you would still admit that till the right people are born, no one would really appreciate all this? I know the point I am trying to make sounds very childish and silly (not to mention pretty useless, as it does not serve any purpose), but I am very interested in the opinions of you guys (especially Das). This first came to my mind when (that was atleast 10 years ago, much before I knew anything about Jyotish) I read in one of the Puranic tales the planetary position under which the 10th incarnation of Vishnu is supposed to be born. Siddhartha. Everything you'll ever need on one web page from News and Sport to Email and Music Charts http://uk.my.
Guest guest
Dear All I am offering an observation: We are not able to judge the enlightened quality of another based solely on the chart. I have seen very difficult charts and very sublime lives that come out of the adversity. Likewise I have seen self-absorbed cruel beings with very gifted charts. The trick is to experience what the person does with the gifts given as shown in the chart not judge him without respect to his actions. Regarding kali yuga. I strongly suggest that every person read Vikto Frankl "Man's Search for Meaning" He details his experiences in a concentration camp and the acts of great compassion that are even greater when juxtaposed by acts of dire cruelty. While traveling in India I wondered how people can NOT give to the beggars. As a free woman in the U.S. I wonder how people here can not give of themselves. I can experience life but I cannot judge what events trigger the journey to enlightenment because I am ever humbled by the daily journey my self. As an astrologer I can suggest acts that will help a person feel more peaceful and productive. I often suggest volunteer work rather than a gem stone. It help sus reach outside of ourselves and isn't that a huge part of the journey to enoightenment? Again, I do not offer anything but an observation and experience. I do not profess to be "spiritual" I've found that this word is often used by some folks to say "THis is what I am and you are not!" Rambling on, recently a friend who has studied spiritual practice and ayurveda as well as astrology told me that he is writing a magazine. He would not be including astrology as his powerful friends did not find it spirtual enough. Again, it is a means to uplift his sense of self. Hmm, I think I think too much, but these terms always trigger the truth which to me is that there is no way for me, the humbe mortal to know. cynthia
Guest guest
Even if you insist that you simply cannot help spreading the Vedic knowledge, you would still admit that till the right people are born, no one would really appreciate all this? Dear Siddhartha, What if we (you and I and out list members) are the right people born, who now live in such a condition in which we are hampered in bringing Light to the world, yet will persist, will make progress, will bring whatever Light we can bring? Even when a chart shows self-absorbed materialism or severe afflictions, the same person makes a difference to another person through his words or his acts...each of us has something beautiful to offer to the world, whether by example, insight, or even by negative example or negative insight causing a reaction that brings positive changes into the hearts and lives of others. The lament of Kali Yuga should be played with reverence before the world backdrop of avatars who have arisen in response to the fervent cries of god-loving people. The world was full of evil events...yet the divine appears when the laments are at their highest pitch (and people are at that time, most open to being saved from their sorrows).... I say, do not despair that the stars are not right in this Kali Yuga. It is what is necessary for the proper development of many, that we go through these times and contine to keep our faith in the Light. Caring souls will give aid to those who, but for their pitiful circumstance in a static moment, would be the greatest givers themselves. In the next moment, those who lamented and were blessed by your kindness will pour out blessings to others, for they know well what suffering is, and what joy it is to be a giver at last. Love to all, Carol
