Guest guest
Hello Shankara and everyone, Shankara, I was not trying to cover detail re Calendars. I was actually trying to alert the descendents of the Celts that they indeed had ancestors, and to try to tell them something about that culture. That's about it. I only mentioned India's Calendar in passing. Also, when I write, I am writing to this list, but also wider, personally. I'm thinking of a wider audience, right or wrong. In my experience of 8 years with Jyotish, talking to many Hindus and Astrologers and all kinds of people, especially in the West of course, well, few to none know what a Panchang is at all, so the details are not as called for yet, but some on this list may appreciate such a level of finery in the matter. The fact that the days are called Tithis and are driven by the Moon's movement, gives it a Lunar side. The fact that the tithis are derived by a distance measure from the Sun, gives it a solar side. I'm personally most interested in spreading the basics of this other world view. You see, I live in a country which could basically be described as: Roman government, Christian Facade, Atheist Culture I like America, don't get me wrong, but, I think it could be better. I think the whole world could be better. So I'm trying to beat in basics, like, the point of my recent articles, the actual sole point, was to make clear that WHITE PEOPLE used to believe firmly in reincarnation, mush to the DISMAY of the Romans and Christians who later conquered them. You see, I want to make it clear to these people that they are living under something that was forced on them basically. I just want them to know. I want them to know that Witchcraft, so to speak, Druidism, was THEIR religion, not something weird or foreign only from Castles in Transylvania, where people drink blood. No. Not true. Picture the little boy at the Celtic funeral, in FRANCE OR ENGLAND two and half thousand years ago, holding his fathers neck tork in the air above his grave during the funural, to signify his passage to another life, rebirth. This may be the origin of the good luck horseshoe. I want people to think of reincarnation every time they see a horseshoe in America. During Holloween, I want them to think of Druidism. I want to spoil the whole thing for them. I want them to know December 25th was 2 days off from a Celtic Calendar High Day for being born, and I want them to think if maybe.... Do you hear me on that? I'm not so worried about spending my short life studying details about things that are way after we convert the person to believing in the soul, so that they stop cutting down rainforests and slaughtering cows? Sounds good, right? Cool. Knew you'd agree. So you see, I want the White people to realize what I was never taught... that they had a noble ancient culture, and that it believed in reincarnation, Gods, a Supreme God, and that the Priests liked vegetarianism and astrology very much, and that Caesar and the Greeks felt that there was great likeness to India's knowledge as do modern scholars. I'm not a revivalist, but I think it will soften America's view of Asia and India A WHOLE LOT if they realize that these people's are ALOT LIKE there own ancestors. They don't call them Indo-European languages for no reason, right? That was my whole point. My personal liking is to spread meer basics in the West. The details should be fully documented, and the best place for details is in books, so if you feel you have alot of good information, make sure it isn't lost. People will be looking for that information eventually here, more and more.
