Normally, I tell them to do 7 sit-ups' everyday during Ketu Dasa at Ganesha temple or a photo at home. The criteria for deciding whether a particular node is benefic or malefic to a particular sign(lagna) is ----- If it rules a trine or kendra,it is benefic,otherwise it is malefic. Thus,Rahu is benefic for taurus,gemini,leo,libra,scorpio, and aquarius and malefic for the rest. ketu is benefic for gemini,cancer,virgo,scorpio, saggitarius and pisces and malefic for the rest. thus---aries and capricorn are the only two lagnas for whom both nodes are malefic---gemini and scorpio are the only two for whom both are benefic. Coming to your question------ ketu is basically about liberation,about spirituality---- whether benefic or malefic,his intention is to free you from maya. We are basically fallen souls who have come under the control of the material energy of the lord. Ketu,if benefic may bestow material benefits.If malefic, he may give material difficulties------during his dasha.
