I was looking at some 'old' emails and came across your mentioning use of

'relocation' charts.

Can I possibly request you to show me an example of your suggested

'relocation' chart technique re:use of House cusps?

Certainly intrigued about the 'House Cusps'.

Please feel free in using my details:

Ram 8th Oct '56 8:33pm Nairobi Kenya (36E49 1S17) Asc: 26:10 Aries

Currently residing in Hounslow England (0W22 51N29) - moved in Sept'64

or anyother you care to use.

Many thanks in anticipation .......

Dear Ram

The 1st step is to determine which are the best planets for your chart.

>From what I see, Your lagna is 29 Aries 51 minutes, if that is indeed

correct, then your best planet, Mercury in own sign is not a friend to your

chart. If by chance you find that your birth time is, off then Mercury

might be the best planet in your chart.

So, before we go any farther, I must ask if you have rectified this birth

time. If it were off by only 1-2 minutes, you might have Taurus lagna and

the answer would be quite different.

thank you for looking at my query but per my calculations I make the Asc as

26Ari10 - can you re-check your calculations please? I have taken '-3.00'

from GMT for my calculations using Lahiri. Perhaps difference due to KP

Ayanamsa?

For your info yes I have rectified my TOB from 8:30pm (per mother).

Best wishes .......

Sure

Why do you feel that this one is accurate? I'm only asking because I have

the Astro Computing Services world atlas, and it is usually the one

considered the best. If there is a problem with the time zone information,

I'd like to know.

Using the Aries Lagna, the strongest planet in your chart, Mercury in Virgo

is not a great friend to the chart. It is still very strong for mental

analysis and work, but is much more stressful than if you were born just two

minutes later and in the time zone I show. There, you would be a Taurus

lagna and Mercury would rule 2nd and 5th houses and would be the absolute

best planetary line to relocate for success. I'm always a little uneasy

when the difference is so little in terms of time and so great in terms of

outcome.

Anyway, the Mid heaven is not usually calculate in the Vedic program I have.

In the case of your chart with 26 AT 10 as the lagna and 7th house angel,

the Mid Heaven and Nadir (top and bottom of the chart as determined by the

tilt of the Earth) are 21 Capricorn 40 minutes midheaven or career point and

21 Cancer 40 minutes nadir or point of home.

With Aries lagna, the great friends are naturally Mars, Sun, Moon and

Jupiter. In your chart, we would recalculate the chart to another location.

TO do so, simply use a computer program and enter in the latitude and

longitude of the new location and keep the time zone of the birth location,

in this case you are using -3:

Now, the closer you get a powerful and beneficial planet to the angels

listed above, the more powerful that planet becomes. Because of the

placements in your chart, I would be tempted to use that Mercury because it

is so strong and "may" be a friend to your chart if the time is off. You

might travel to a place that has Mercury strong (within 1 degree of

latitude) and see how you respond to it. In the U.S. you would have the

best relocation placements from Texas west to California. In the UK, the

Sun line is the strongest for your chart. It is most exact in the eastern

part of the UK.. Mercury is strong on the eastern side of Ireland.

It all boils down to placing a planet that is very strong and beneficial for

you on one of the angels of the chart.

In my case, I was compelled to move without any real conscious decision to a

place where 4 planetary lines are strong. I am Capricorn lagna and I live

almost exactly on my Saturn line. Saturn is by birth in my 1-st house, but

only by moving to the west did I get the results of Saturn as promised in my

chart. This move put Saturn tightly on the midheaven, rather than simply

out in the middle of the house. It also relocated my moon tightly on the

lagna rather than behind it, and it brought in Uranus and Jupiter. This has

been a busy place for me, but my years in Ohio were very difficult with

little work and barely sustaining myself.

I hope this helps.

Re:TZ= -3 it is really a mixture of old programs using that value for Kenya

along with my being better able to time certain events in my life per

Dasha/Bhukies running. To be honest I have always accepted TZ= -3 for Kenya

and the very first time I came across TZ= -2:45 for Kenya was with Andrew

Foss's program (last year at the Bava convention) - I promise I will take a

closer look at it though may have to 're-modify' my rectification to fit

around 26Ari10? I promise it isn't due to my desiring Jupiter to aspect my

Asc to the degree!!

Re:calculation would I be right in assuming that one uses the Same TOB + TZ

But use 'New' Location details for relocation purposes? Checking for

'desired' Graha to be located at an Kendra from Original Birth Chart - I

assume 10th followed by Asc followed by 7th followed by 4th?

Noticed you haven't mentioned the use of 'Trines' aspects to either Asc or

Mid-heaven - is this deliberate?

Also would you mind 'sharing' your birth info along with Ohio and present

details just to 'better' grasp your last paragraph on your own personal

experiences - either on/off the list?

Many thanks Cynthia for the 'insight' and hoping you will confirm/answer

some of my above queries as well.

Best wishes ........

copy or disclose the information in any way nor act in reliance on it and notify

the sender immediately.

Please note that the BBC monitors e-mails sent

Ahhh, but if your lagna is really Taurus, then you have that great Mercury

in Virgo in the 5th which is even better that Jupiter extactly aspecting the

lagna <grins>

Time zones that vary at sticky business. Your case is a prine example. If,

in fact your time of birth or first breath is just 1-2 minutes later, and

the TZ is -2:45 minutes, your chart shifts to different friends. It would

be fun to look at information to see which is right. It might be a nice

rectification project for you and for the list.

TZ

Yes, that is how it is done.

Checking for

No, which angle does not matter, that a good planet becomes angular is the

most significant.

The closer it comes to the actual degree the more powerful it is. So, in

the case of Vedic astrology which uses a whole sign house system, you will

need to calculate the actual Mid heaven and Nadir to be sure. Rarely are

they exactly 90 degrees from the lagna.

The houses each have specific meaning. So, the Sun in Leo on the 4th house

(nadir) angel might mean you will feel a great similarity between yourself

(Sun) and the location. Venus is almost universally good. You are happy

wherever she is angular. Still, if she is on the Mid Heaven it naturally is

even better for career and public recognition. On the 7th, she makes for

happy relationships or at least you are very attractive to others which may

be too intense for a happy relationship if you cannot say no.

Mars on an angle brings great energy. My sweetie and I stayed in Paris

while enroute to India. It was a Mars line for both of us. Our room was

above a Greek restaurant where there was music and dancing and crashing

plates until 2am. We walked from one end of the city to the other on

Christmas day in light rain. We slept very little. The last night, when we

had a 5:30 wakeup to get to the airport, there was a group of roaming and

singing students who decided to camp out in front of the little hotel and

sing and laugh after the bars closed at 2:am. This is Mars at its best. We

got up and took off in the morning running on adrenalin. It was great for a

vacation, but I couldn't live on that line.

>

> Noticed you haven't mentioned the use of 'Trines' aspects to either Asc or

> Mid-heaven - is this deliberate?

>

Correct. They might support the planetary line, but the actual line that

runs through the area is what is most important. I have a computer program

that does the calculations and prints out a map showing the lines of the 4

angels.

There are also parans. These simple take the intersection of the planetary

lines as the girdle the globe. The latitude where they intersect becomes a

sensitive point. At that intersection and 1 degree north or south of it is

a sensitive line that circles the globe and brings in the energies of those

planets as well.

Ohh, I don't mind. I have shared it before.

You would rerun the chart using EDT with the Arlington lat. and long.

Dear Ram

I forgot to tell you that my Mid Heaven is 25 Libra 20 which means that my

Nadir is 25 Aries 20

This places Saturn on the Mid Heaven, the Moon on the Lagna and Sun on the

Nadir.

Jupiter and Uranus are at 1 degree Cancer so they are approaching the 7th

but not as tight as the others.

Still, I have had very nice relationships here including my current 7 year

relationship with a professor, so that Jupiter does influence just not as

intensely.

I also became much more confident when I moved to this area Sun

And I was almost immediately seen a professional astrologer with good and

practical information

Saturn. The Moon manifests directly: I can't hide my feelings as I did

when I was in OH.

In fact, my clients cite my compassion and feeling nature as a strong draw

to return.

Namaste Cynthia

many thanks for your reply - as suggested I will play with TZ= -2:45 and see

what I get!!! Not to sure how others would feel towards participating in a

'rectification' exercise - let me play and if necessary 'bounce' ideas

either on/off the list.

You mentioned using a computer program that generates a 'map' - can I

request you to mention what it is?

I know 'most' people suggest using exact Natal details (ie Birth TOB/POB)

whilst generating Varshapal (yearly) charts - any personal thoughts on this

area? I must say that I am more inclined towards using your 'relocation'

method in its generation - hence the query.

Many thanks once again Cynthia for 'highlighting' your thoughts on this

subject - much appreciated!!!

Best wishes ......

Jai Sita Ram

Dear Ram

The program I use is call Solar Fire by Astrolabe. It is a western

astrology program that is very reliable and even includes the Vedic chart

and dashas now.

There is a companion program called Solar Maps.

I believe that Winstar, another western program by....name eludes me...also

offers a mapping program.

Vedic astrology offers the concept of planets that are friends to the chart

and offers a better way to assess which planetary lines are most productive.

Western astrology simply prefers Venus or Jupiter over say Saturn with no

regard to the planet's strength or success in the individual chart.

You don't need an expensive program, you do need to be able to calculate the

Mid Heaven and Nadir. My Vedic program does not do that. You can always

run a chart on astrodienst and adjust it to sidereal and go from there.

You can order a map from Astrocartography. I don't know if they have a web

site.

Their map is of the world and so very difficult to see the various lines and

where they cross.

I do not do varshaphal. I tried for years as a western astrologer and never

found it reliable.

If you relocate for the yearly chart, would you not naturally need to

relocate it for life where you actually live?

Transits are the best tool for prediction when combined with the dashas.

I am highly suspect of the varshaphal: Assuming that in Vedic astrology the

placement of the Moon is most important, why then would we not wait for the

time when the Moon returns to its nakshatra rather than simply the return of

the Sun.

I believe that in India the birthday is celebrated with the return of the

Moon to its nakshatra when the Sun has also returned. Is this correct or am

I mistaken?

good luck

cynthia

Namaste Cynthia

thanking you for the information re:software programs - I thought it may

have been solar fire.

Re:calculating Varshapal charts for relocated co-ords I agree it would make

more sense hence my asking if methodology used for relocation could be

applied with any success instead. Guess will have to play .....

Re: waiting for Sun to come back to its 'natal' position re:celebrating

birthdays is I guess understandable as said event can only take place once a

year whilst the Moon returning to its Natal position can be 12/13 times a

year. Also very likely that Both events may not occur near one another?

Sorry can't say anything regarding waiting for Both Sun and Moon to return

to their Nakshatra positions before celebrating ones birthday in India -

hope other 'fellow' Indians on the list can assist on this query.

My personal thoughts though would be that 'most' Indians would celebrate

their birthdays like their 'western' counterparts on their date of birth as

opposed for waiting for Sun to return to its Natal position - at least this

has been followed by my immediate family.

Thank you again Cynthia for 'more' food for thought .....

Best wishes ......

Jai Sita Ram

Ram
