I seem to attract clients with this pattern. I have not seen this yoga to be particularly negative. I've found that the native often has a hard time seeing others clearly and may struggle with empathy when there are no visible planets opposing any other. To help with that, practice asking others for their input into conversation. I've found that the transits over Rahu or Ketu are very significant. Much more so than for other natives. I've noticed that the life seems to have dramatic turns. I've even seen them manifest their desires in a powerful way. They can become very fixated upon a goal and have trouble seeing anyone or anything else. Love him or hate him, George W. Bush is the most famous KSY on the planet. His is a traditional KS with no planets even in the same houses as Rahu or Ketu. When he began his run for the Republican nomination he said a phrase that all KSY folks should learn "I will see if there is support for my making a run." When KSY learns to work with the flow of destiny rather than p[ush his agenda he learns to work with this yoga. It is said when all planets lie between Ketu and Rahu the other planets are not able to give their beneficiance.As you know that Rahu is Known as Dragon's Head and Ketu Dragon's Tail. So when planets come between Ketu and Rahu, Rahu(Dragon's Head) eats all the planets moving in the retrograte direction. Remedies :- One the simplest remedies is to donate a Snake made of Silver in a Shiv Temple on Monday. Another remedy is a Sarp Dosha Puja which is performed by a Brahmin and it is expensive. Here Lord Shiva is manifested in Vayu Linga form. This temple is famous for KSY pooja and takes about 15 minutes to perform this pooja. The temple authorities have made special arrangements for this pooja. Sri Kalahasti is also referred as Dakshina Kashi. Unfortunately, many Indian astrologers have used the placement of all the planets between Rahu and Ketu as Kaal Sarp Yoga and have used it for their advantage. No one would be forced to shell out money of his/her pocket for propitiation unless the astrologer is unable to scare him/her to the hilt. There are many horoscopes in which such a yoga is present and I have found them to be perfectly normal. There does seem to be dramatic shifts in the life, but not the horrendous losses and negative karma that I've heard some describe. If it were so bad, how did George W. Bush become president of the US. He has a classic one. Oh, let's not forget the references to either Rahu or Ketu leading. I've been told that if Rahu leads there will be no success. I do not know if its referenced specifically in any book, but since all planets get on one side of the chart, if you notice the Sarvashtakavarga distribution tends to an uneven balance on one side or you can get like 4 houes getting very high points and the other getting lesser points due to this. This definitely could indicate troubles during the antra of weak planets or people not deriving full happiness of houses that have SAV points below 28 points. I am just talking about cummulative AV strength. So you could get periods of longer hardships contegously. If the 6th lords associates with planets then it will tend to spoil the results even further again the extent would depend on the bindus of the 6th lord. Maybe this could give a little different prespective on things. About the name and why Kal Sarp, I do not know, but the philosophy could be same. Thanking you, Cheers !!! When Rahu -led KalaSarpa Yoga is broken, the person chooses material direction of life, and if breakage takes place by natural Papas, then it can lead the person into the bad ways.. If by natural subha, then the breakage can give wealth and prosperity. Ketu led Yoga (Kala Mritam) when broken, the person takes spiritual direction firmly. If broken by papa, terrible sufferings will take place in the process. Another breakage is by Grahas in Lagnas and 7th house as Astropandit indicated. I am interested in this Kala Sarpa Yoga discussion very much as I have all planets enclosed on one side by the nodes, with no planet in either Rahu or Ketu's bhava. I have read that this nodal yoga becomes "Kalamrita" Yoga under a special placement of these nodes with regards to the ascendant; Ketu being first after ascendant with Rahu away gives Kalamrita yoga. Does anyone have information on what Kalamrita yoga is and how it influences a person's life? I've found nothing to describe its effects. Is the word "calamity" related to Kalamrita yoga? Guest guest Posted May 9, 2002 Report Share Posted May 9, 2002 OK If this yoga is so bad how did George W. Bush do so well with it? He has only functional malefics for his chart in the 1st. (Saturn Mercury and Venus) No planets with the nodes. If you use the 150 degrees aspect of the nodes Ketu aspects all the planets in the 1st and Rahu aspects the benefic gagia kesari in the 3rd. His life certainly fits the notion that his life has been in the grasp of destiny. He even became president of the US during the Saturn MD and though he was marginally elected, he gained great popularity under Saturn Rahu. So, if this yoga is so bad, why did his life turn out so good? He even has a loving wife and children although Ketu is in the 5th and Saturn is lord of the 7th. I have found that there are several things that KSY folks have in common. They stay married (for the most part) Many of them "knew" the one shortly after they met. I;ve even seen that in cases where one person comes out of the past still thinking about an old love, that one of the two people has consistently had a KSY. Transits to the nodes are huge! Note that in the case of GWB, Rahu recently returned to its natal place and is aspecting tightly his Jupiter Moon union. Again I will say that when KSY is patient or allows things to unfold they are much more successful than pushing things forward. The later, unfortunately is the tendency for this chart formation. A friend is studying with a very well known Vedic astrologer. His mentor told him that evenwhen there is a planet outside the nodes, even when that planet is in another house, if that planet is close to the node by degree that chart is still a KSY. So there is really no consensus.
