Guest guest
Dear Robert Koch and others.........................................I was just going through Dalai Lama's chart and found some interesting points. He is a well noted spiritual leader and a compassionate person. He also won a Noble Peace prize. How is this image possible with the arudha lagna in virgo with fiery mars? Moreover, ascendant has a very strong sun in taurus.Rahu in ninth is aspecting the ascendant. He also doesn't seem to have any pravrajya yogas in his chart. Can anyone explain why he is known as a compassionate person? To me his chart is baffling! birth data: july 6 1935 4:38 AM- LMT 6:44:48 Takster, Tibet 36 N 32, 101 E 12 regards Astropundit

Guest guest
Dear Sir We seem to have different lagnas. I do not use the Arudha lagna. For the Rashi I find lagna at 16: Gemini 58 with the Sun also in Gemini at 19:57 and Ketu at 20:03. Am I doing something wrong? I check with Astrodatabank because my program did not find the city. Their western chart shows 10 Cancer, so this looks right. cynthia - astropundit <aru_dulla <gjlist> Saturday, May 04, 2002 12:16 PM [GJ] Re: Dalai Lama > Dear cynthia..................................................I was > the one who posted the chart. Guest guest
Dear Ms. Doesn't this different lagna change you concerns about the chart? I have a Badra Maha parush in the 1st and that is not only good for business but for thinking clearly. It disposits the Mars in Virgo, and in fact disposits all the planets except Saturn which is in his own constellation, AQ in the dharmic 9th and in shatabishik which is also a very thoughtful mansion, plus it in retrograde which to me means introspective. That Mercury recently stationed direct increasing its power. The 1st house is also early life, with the powerful planets there it suggests that his early life was very dramatic.. Note took that the Mercury in Ardra could have been very angry about having his "royal" status removed. Instead he speaks of tolerance. That is a huge leap for ardra, the teardrop whose deity is Rudra the howler. still, I've found that when ARdra makes the leap for compassion they do so dramatically. The Sun is also in ARdra. c - astropundit <aru_dulla <gjlist> Sunday, May 05, 2002 11:16 AM [GJ] Re: Dalai Lama > Dear Cynthia......................................................I > am a girl actually (laughs). Guest guest
Haribol! I am new to the list and had plans to lurk <s> but I saw this post of the Dalai Lama. What I am about to say is not astrological but since some folks are doing his chart, I thought this story could be of interest to some, maybe. I use to live in the L.A. (New Dwarka) temple. Several times actually. This was approximately in the early 80s. Now, anyone who is familiar with this temple knows that most devotees shop for groceries at "Balians." Especially in the days where the only place you could get tofu was from a health food store. Balains, probably because they had so many Hare Krishna shoppers, and a few mulit-cultural shoppers, stocked tofu! And a little other unique foods, some of which could only be found in a health food store at that time, some only in quaint cultural stores, including Chinese shops. One day I was walking down the isle of Balians, looking for some item, and who is walking the exact opposite direction and therefore right toward me? The Dali Lama! I could not believe my eyes! Me in my sari haha and him in his monk robes, looking for a brief moment at each other, then I put my head down and just walked past, and he also just walked past. But it doesn't end there. One or two more times I ran into him at Balians. It was getting embarrassing. Yet I could not stop shopping since we needed food too! But something needed to be done. Simple Plan: I began to peek down each isle just BEFORE turning into them. If I saw him, I did not select that isle for the moment. And *yes*, there *were* times I was find him in one. lol One person said to me, "Are you *sure* this was the Dalia Lama you saw? Maybe you mistook another Buddhist monk for him? How do you know what he looks like?" Well, first, I thought everybody knew what he looks like. But secondly, right around the same time I remember seeing his picture on the cover of a magazine with captions that the Dalai Lama was in LA! So, that is my Dali Lama story. Thanks for loaning an ear. Guest guest
Dear Cynthia....................................................I apologize for the late reply. Was caught up in my school work. Even with the gemini lagna, sun in lagna makes a person egotistic. Arudha lagna is the maya peetha. It shows the world's perception about us. Lagna or ascendant shows our real nature whereas arudha lagna shows what others think of us. This is a widely used concept in vedic astrology. Arudha lagna has mars aspecting it, so, people must think of him as a short tempered person. Mercury in a fiery star sign reinforces this. Lagna lord in lagna is good for an easy childhood. I wonder what others have to say about this. regards Astropundit > Dear Ms. > > Doesn't this different lagna change you concerns about the chart? > > I have a Badra Maha parush in the 1st and that is not only good for business > but for thinking clearly. > > It disposits the Mars in Virgo, and in fact disposits all the planets except > Saturn which is in his own constellation, AQ in the dharmic 9th and in > shatabishik which is also a very thoughtful mansion, plus it in retrograde > which to me means introspective. Guest guest
I cannot talk about the Arudha lagna because I do not use it. It didn't seem to fit in my life so I let it go when I first learned of it. There are so many astrological tools that no one person uses them all. Guest guest
Dear cynthia...........................................Arudha lagna is a very interesting concept. I hope you'll find it useful someday. Now, regarding the nakshatras, I am not very familiar with them. I have sagittarius ascendant with sun, mars and mercury in the ascendant, moon in fifth, jupiter exalted in eighth, saturn and rahu in ninth and venus in twelfth. Sun, mars and saturn are in venus nakshtaras. Since, venus is the karaka of 6th house for sagittarius, will there be any health concerns for me? I haven't experienced any so far but I am curious. regards Astropundit. > I cannot talk about the Arudha lagna because I do not use it. Guest guest
Dear Astropundit i am guessing that b/c the moolitrikona of venus is libra, and the 6th for sag is taurus, that venus would be more indicative of 11th house matters. Is this true? Marcia At 05:36 PM 5/8/02 +0000, you wrote: Dear cynthia...........................................Arudha lagna is a very interesting concept. I hope you'll find it useful someday. Guest guest
i don't use the naks. in that way. I look at each one, the story that goes with the symbolism and from that is revealed qualities of the person and his or her journey or evolution. Venus in the 12th would be in Scorpio and either anuradha or jyeshta, these are very different and so the work of Venus and its relationship to health matters very different as well. c - astropundit <aru_dulla <gjlist> Wednesday, May 08, 2002 12:36 PM [GJ] Re: Dalai Lama > Dear cynthia...........................................Arudha lagna > is a very interesting concept. Guest guest
Dear cynthia.................................................You're right. Venus is in anuradha nakshatra in the first pada and in scorpio. But, according to Parasara, venus is a functional malefic for sagittarius lagna.
