Dear Lucia

you

<<I have a doubt now; as when I learned electional, I have been told that the

exact moment when the contract was signed should be taken as the birth of the

business. As they already signed the contract times before, is it valid the new

date just for opening the office to public?.>>

Me

In my understanding, yes it is valid the new date. Every new important beginning

it is a new birth. Of course the time of birth is all important but we can

change horoscopes as we go.

The opening of an office is as important as the birth of the enterprise. I

remember than as a child, we used to play with tires. We used to throw a tire

forwards and see the distance travelled by it. We were allowed to use sticks to

hit the tire on the left or right to make it change direction. Astrology is like

that, we are allowed to use horoscopes to change direction or to make things

better.

You

<< I have been searching but did not find too many auspicious date during the

whole year, specially because they would like to have it done by April, I just

could not do it. Do you agree?.

Do you also agree that regarding the principle of muhurtha that for long term

thing like business moon should occupy fixed nakshtras as Rohini, U. Shadha, U.

Bhadra etc.? I select Mercury as an important piece of this chart, but

unfortunately for the next month his situation is not so good. Can you tell me

something about it too?.

Me

According to my experience, the best reference book for Muhurta is the book Muhurtha by B.V.Raman.

In a similar case to yours, I would ask to see the horoscope of the business in

question or the horoscope of the leading partner. According to either of those

horoscopes I would apply the preferent rule as advised by Raman. It is

impossible to find a perfect electional time and therefore we should compromise

to the election that has less bad elements.

For example, the best election is to have a good week day, a good day of the

moon, a good tara bala and a good chandra bala. If all of those are bad, I

would chose a day with a good tara bala because a good tara bala is the most

important of all.

Raman says "But when a more auspicious day cannot be secured, we can resort to

the lesser of the two evils".

In chapter 3 of the mentioned book, Raman mentions about the Panchaka . He says

that for ordinary matters, a good tara bala would do, but for more important

matters, a panchaka is best.

He says (added parenthesis are mine) "As an example, let us assume that A wants

to start a business on a day and time otherwise conforming to the requirement

of Muhurtha- the constellation being Aslesha (which is number 9), the lunar day

being the 13th, the rising sign being Virgo (which is number 6), and the week

day Sunday (which is number 1)

Dividing this by 9, we get 29/9 = 3 2/9. 2 as reminder. It indicates vahni or

fire and hence the time selected is not favourable."

Some lines previous to this, Raman says "If the reminder is 3,5,7, or zero then it is good."

Therefore, to change the result to the above calculation, we can change the

rising sign to adjust our need of a good panchaka.

I hope that this is helpful for your elections. No doubt that in time you will

be requested to do many more muhurtas.

Best wishes

Natabara Das
