Guest guest
dear Partha you <<this is what i get from saraveli, i do understand that taking things verbatim is not correct please tell me why did saraveli the great scholar quote the below1-2. Kalapurusha's Soul etc. and their UseThe Sun is the soul of the Zodiac personified, the Moon mind, Mars strength, Mercury speech (voice), Jupiter intelligence, Venus comforts, Rahu ego and Saturn grief. If at birth planets indicative of soul etc. are strong, these significations will equally be strong. If these planets are weak, the effects are only meager. But in the case of Saturn it is different.>> me Partha, you have a great potential in vedic astrology due to your mercury in Sagittarius lagna and aspected by his host Jupiter from the house 5th (mantra, yantra, etc). Also Jupiter is in a Janma naksatra and Mercury in a parama mitra naksatra. But due to the papa-subha kartari to lagna, sometimes you may want to run before you learn how to walk. Of course, we should not minimise the great masters of vedic astrology like Saravali and others, but vedic astrology is written in Sanskrit and therefore difficult to translate or understand, and we have to follow certain keys and the mentality of those rishis. A vedic astrologer in his 90's told me that sometimes certain people think that old people can be controlled easily, but because they cannot understand old age, they miss the point. In my country people say "Mas sabe el diablo por viejo que por diablo", which translated sounds like this: "The devil knows more for being old than for being devil". Many vedic scholars wrote their best books at the end of their lives when the impulsivity of young age was more tamed. Please notice that Sarasvali starts by giving a key: Kalapurusha. He is refering to the Kalapurusha. Kala means time and purusha is the male principle, or in other words Time Personified. Of course, you know all this things, i am only explaining on behalf of newcomers. For example, in the 5th Canto of the Srimad Bhagavatam, Srila Vyasadeva explains the universe visualising the shape of the Sisumara, or the mystical dolphin. On Canto 5, ch 23, text 7, he explains that Rahu is in its neck, and within its mind is the moon, and Venus is on its navel. How to explain all that? Then in 5.22 10 it says "Because the moon is full of potentials, it represents the influence of the Supreme Personality of Godhead". Of course we know that people envious of the Supreme Person try to translate in a way as to avoid His glories or holy name. Anyway, many thanks for sharing with us Sarasvali's text, i was not aware of it. I can see that its translation can be misleading . I believe that Sarasvali was refering as Rahu representing the false ego of the Kala Purusha. Of course, God has not false ego but on behalf of the conditioned jivas (souls) whom acquire a false ego due to their identification with the material nature, Rahu here can be studied in Vedic horoscopes to see the false ego of a person. That is a good tip and it requires some practice. It makes sense, because the sun is the pure ego, the witness in this material creation. Then the false ego or Rahu would tell us the main "temptations, karma, or lessons" of the jiva to create a false ego. This would be according to the houses and naksatras ruled by Rahu and also his position (location) and aspects (in and out). All this is not a rule, it is just what i feel at the moment and i will ask about it to my teachers next time that i get the opportunity.
