Guest guest
Hi all, I've been another "quiet" member of this group, as I know nothing of Vedic astrology. I'd like to know what resources & direction would be helpufl in beginning this study. Would anyone like to comment about any indications in my chart that would give interest/aptitude in astrology? Of course anything else you see you feel important is also appreciated. Thanks. Guest guest
Dear Stewart A couple of elementary books I would recommend are Light on Life by Hart de Fowe and Beneath a Vedic Sky by William Levacy . You may also like to learn the Systems Approach of which simplifies things considerably .He has ten or so books on the market teaching his approach with material at his website and a conference where you can pose questions to him . Other things that are helpful are getting the charts of friends and relatives and studying them . Like mathematics one should test one's assimilation of theory by trying numerous examples . Also try to make some predictions and see how they fare . Noone can learn anything without making mistakes . Hope this helps Nicholas - Stewart Eaton gjlist Sunday, February 17, 2002 3:00 AM [GJ] Astrologer indications Hi all, I've been another "quiet" member of this group, as I know nothing of Vedic astrology. Guest guest
Dear Stewart I get 3 degrees Gemini rising for your chart . Generally Geminis like the areas of life that carry a message . Venus in 12th house in own sign is good for moksha Saturn aspecting it's own sign in the 8th is good for esoteric subjects . Mercury conjunct Saturn may not be conducive to speed of thought (although Gemini is a quick thinker) but is associated with depth . Jupiter in 5th is excellent for deep knowledge of ancient subject matters .The conjunction with the Moon is also suggestive of spirituality . Sun as 3rd Lord in 1st makes for one with a strong sense of personal effort . Mars as 11th Lord in 12th also gives interest in foreign places Rahu in the 12th also gives attraction to foreign ways So there are a few hints on interpreting your chart Hope this helps Nicholas - Stewart Eaton gjlist Sunday, February 17, 2002 3:00 AM [GJ] Astrologer indications Hi all, I've been another "quiet" member of this group, as I know nothing of Vedic astrology. Guest guest
Namaste Stewart, If you want to study Jyotish, i recommend David Frawley(Vamadeva Shastri) to study with. I took his correspondence course and found it excellent. HIs course is comprehensive , in depth and not very expensive. He is not only a teacher of Jyotish but of Ayurveda and the whole vedic wisdom, which Jyotish is a part of as Vedanga(limbs of Vedas). He is highly regarded even in India. Good luck and Hari Om Hari Das ---------- "Stewart Eaton" <stewart.eaton (AT) worldnet (DOT) att.net> <gjlist> [GJ] Astrologer indications Sat, Feb 16, 2002, 11:00 AM Hi all, I've been another "quiet" member of this group, as I know nothing of Vedic astrology.
