ThanIk you Gordon for getting back to me about Hart de Fouw. Not exactly a

ringing endorsement. I'm not sure it's worth a thousand dollars.

I have mercury in the Libra in the 3rd house with my Sun.. I entered Mercury

Mahadasha a couple of years ago and my life went haywire. I had noticed that

past sub-Dashas of Mercury were difficult, so I was somewhat prepared but

thought I could handle it. (I was wrong)>

I have Mars and Saturn in the 12th in Cancer and Leo Ascendant. Can anyone

recommend proper gemstones to wear to help me (I get conflicting information

about green stones) and let me know what sub-periods might be beneficial?

Also can someone recommend a really good Vedic Astrologer? Perhaps one of you.

Thanks.

I'm not qualified to speak on gems. But on Hart de Fouw - his foundation course

may be too basic for you if you already know astrology quite well and it is

teaching a particular method of astrology (from Iyer, his teacher). However he

himself is vastly experienced in astrology, has read classical works in original

Sanskrit and can quote them to you, is a highly skilled palmist and will talk on

astrology for eight hours straight if you let him. Also the course is well

organised. So I said look at the syllabus - if that is what you want it is a

good buy. Sorry I was too brief before.

One question: Is he a good teacher (speaker)? I have no doubt that he is a very

good astrologer. My concern is how well he transmits the teachings--orally.

Thank you again for your trouble

Yes he is a good teacher. He can ramble a bit, but he has high standards.

My advice is not to rely too much on the teacher (general statement, not Hart in

particular), rely on your work. The teacher is only there to draw out your

potential until you can surpass him.
