Free will and predestination

Dear List

Just one additional thought on this subject .Whereas life is some sort of

combination of free will and predestination it should not be thought that the

amount of free will or destiny is fixed .In Western thought Jung taught that

one could increase his free will through detachment and introspection .In Vedic

thought the more one increases in Satva the more their free will increases .As

we learn about the options for behaviour and action and the implications

inherent in them we are in a better position to make better choices .

So Cynthia's approach in trying to help her clients understand their energies

and potentialities and therefore improve the understanding of the opportunities

available to them is a commendable one .To me it would seem to increase the free

will of the client .

Best wishes

Dear List,

I am merely a student of Jyotish and as such, my opinions on the subject should

be taken with a grain of salt. My opinions are constantly evolving the more I

study. It was, in fact, the predictive nature of Jyotish that drew me to it.

Along the way, I have discovered that the depth of Jyotish has allowed me to

gain insight into the karmic patterns of my own life and on occasion into the

lives of those I care for.

I have always believed that each soul chooses the energies it is to work with in

a given incarnation. To that end, I see astrology as a method of reading the

timeline of

my own nature. I firmly believe that events, or certainly their likely

occurrence can be predicted. At the same time, I firmly believe that being

forewarned about the likelihood of a given occurrence or energy manifestation

provides one with a nice layer of extra information upon which to make

decisions based upon the free will that I believe all human beings possess.

I believe that to a certain extent, we are all predestined to experience certain

things... because we chose to experience them for the evolution of our soul.

The fascinating thing to me is that we seem to have forgotten these

pre-incarnation choices so that free will is able to come into play.

I respect and value the work of both predictive and, for lack of a better term,

intuitive astrologers. I have a great deal to learn from both approaches.

Best Regards,

scott
