Guest guest
Natabara, While I appreciate your efforts here, none of the incidents yout cite have much importance in Canadian history. They may have been important at the time, but nobody now knows about them. So the question for astrologers is: should these show up in the chart? Well, of course, everything should show up somehow but really, a chart has to be able to convey the really important things before we start worrying about fires or spy satellites burning up over Canada. The two events I mentioned, are possibly the among the most important in Canadian history and are recorded in all its history books. The FLQ crisis occurred in Oct 1970 and was the only time when martial law was delcared in peacetime as a group or armed terrorists held several government officials hostage. Hundreds of innocent persons were arrested as the police took no chances. It was shock to the nation and underscored the greater problem of Quebece separatism. The Oct 1995 referendum was also a part of Quebec's desire for self -determination and it came within 30,00 votes out of 5 million of legally separating from Canada. It was a very close call that few in the rest of Canada would care to repeat. So a good workable chart of Canada should really show those two events very clearly in terms of their shock value, and disruptive effect on the country. Guest guest
Dear Chris you <<While I appreciate your efforts here, none of the incidents yout cite have much importance in Canadian history.>> me Sorry teacher for not having done my homework properly. you <<They may have been important at the time, but nobody now knows about them.>> me My intention was not in how to impress Canadians but in how to read a mundane chart. you <<So the question for astrologers is: should these show up in the chart? Well, of course, everything should show up somehow>> me I am sorry for disagreeing in this one, but not everything can show up unless we cheat or juggle with the rules. you <<but really, a chart has to be able to convey the really important things>> me What is really important to you?. I met some Canadians long ago in my natal country and their interest was to enjoy their holidays and not politics. you <<before we start worrying about fires or spy satellites burning up over Canada.>> me For those that know politics, spying has deeper implications in a country that it looks like. you <<The two events I mentioned, are possibly the among the most important in Canadian history and are recorded in all its history books.>> me I am sorry that i do not have those books, i only took a reference book that gives only some headlines. you <<The FLQ crisis occurred in Oct 1970 and was the only time when martial law was delcared inpeacetime as a group or armed terrorists held several government officials hostage. Hundreds of innocent persons were arrested as the police took nochances. It was shock to the nation and underscored the greater problem of Quebece separatism>> me My reference book says that in 18 Oct 1970, Canada's Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau invoked emergency war powers to fight the "insurrectionalists". I will take this date as a reference to my studies. >From the data of 1 July 1867, 0h, at Ottawa, we get a horoscope having Ascendant Pisces at 23°34'52 Venus is in 3rd Moon and sun in 4th Mercury in 5th Mars and Rahu in 6th Saturn in 8th and Jupiter and Ketu are in Aquarius in the 12th. We have many astrologers on this list and they can detect if i am cheating or stretching things to fit my reading or the chart. 1 In my last posting i had the above chart of Canada for reference to my studies. 2 I did say that the rules of astrology were to fit the indications given by the planetary periods like this: A.- For dasas or main periods, we have to fit the ownership of the planet ruling the dasa. B.- For Buktis or sub periods, we have to fit the location of the planet ruling the bukti. C. For antaras or sub-sub-periods, we have to fit the ownership and the location of the planet ruling the antara. 3.- I did have as reference books the Chronicle of the 20 Century, and Raphael's Mundane Astrology. With the first book, i look at the index under Canada and found 15 dates which i could study. With the 2nd book i did follow some of the meanings of the astrological houses. I knew myself other meanings that are not mentioned in that book, but i never made up meaning myself to stretch the rules. That is how i did it. I have to say that some of the dates found by me do not fit the above rules and therefore i did not include them. It was my intention as well to be as simple and clear as possible for anyone to follow my thinking. That is how i did it. You can see that i did give 4 examples and that i had to fit 3 periods from each one. By following the mentioned rules, i fit 11 out of 12 periods. One of them did not fit well. Here it is again to remind. "Jupiter antara. Jupiter rules the 10th and the 1st houses. All that has been already explained. It is in the 12th. I do not know how to fit this. Perhaps it is a political lose, and only time will tell." Now, i did take the date 18 Oct 1970 to follow the rules. The horoscope indicates for that date the MoMoSa which ran from 7 Sep 1970 to 25 Oct 1970. My first impression was that the chart had to show up the 1st house (to indicate government) and the 7th (indicating friction, or war among other things). When i saw MoMoSa, i did follow the rules given and i do this: Moon dasa. Moon rules the 5th house. This house indicates diplomacy. In this historical fact, diplomacy was a must as you must know. Moon bukti. The moon is in the 4th house. The book Raphael's Mundane Astrology, says for this house, "It also governs the opposition party to the government". The prime minister was really fighting against a very strong and demanding party or enemy. Saturn antara. Saturn rules the 11th and 12th houses and it is in the 8th. Raphael's book says about the 11th house "Has special reference to Parliament", which indeed we can see here. For the 12th house Raphael says "has special signification concerning crime, criminals, spies and secret foes." You may remember from history books that those "insurrectionalists" like Pierre called them, were criminals. Then we have that Saturn, the ruler of the antara is in the 8th house. Raphael says "reference to death, mortality, and all matter to do therewith". From the book "Chronicle..." i read that Labor Minister Pierre Laporte was kidnapped by the "separatists" and his body was found crumpled in the trunk of a car on the same month. you <<The Oct 1995 referendum was also a part of Quebec'sdesire for self -determination and it came within 30,00 votes out of 5 million of legally separating from Canada. It was a very close call thatfew in the rest of Canada would care to repeat. So a good workable chart of Canada should really show those two events very clearly in terms oftheir shock value, and disruptive effect on the country.>> For Oct 1995 i do not have a date to base my studies, so i will get only dasa and bukti. The chart i am following gives RaMe. Rahu dasa. Rahu rules the 12 house. This house as you know means falls, losses, freedom or liberation. The separatists were fighting for freedom, liberation from Canada and for Canada it could have been a loss if the separatists had won. Mercury bukti. Mercury is in the 5th house. The 5th rules diplomacy which was a must in this "fight". you <<So a good workable chart of Canada should really show those two events very clearly in terms oftheir shock value, and disruptive effect on the country.>> me So my dear Chris, can you say now that i have followed a workable chart and that i have shown clearly those two events? Best wishes Natabara Das
