the May Stellium and the astrologer's karma

I'd like to encourage comment on the May stellium. I've read and heard

everything from nuclear war to bio-warfare and the city of New York having

the water supply poisoned. I'm hoping that those of you who are more

learned than I will look at this and see if it makes sense to you. This is

written for a general audience so very toned-down of astro-jargon. Still,

when I lay out the planets and look at history I cannot see the devastation

that others do.

 

I would also like to begin a discussion on the Karma of predicting mass

destruction or chaos. What is the responsibility of the astrologer for his

or her words? What does it say about astrologers when as a whole most

appear to be seeking the next big calamity rather than the next great

opportunity?

 

The May Stellium: This is the latest big-news in astrology circles. The

answer to your desires pulls up in a sleek black limo. Part of you says

something is out of balance, then you say, "aw, what the hey!" And you jump

in. Only you discover that there are no door handles on the inside. That is

the potential dilemma of this union of Saturn, Mars, Venus, Rahu, Mercury,

Ketu, Pluto the Sun and Moon. The astrological community is using the May

14th gathering of planets and the ensuing eclipses of late May and June as

the next harbinger of doom. I'd like to try to explain briefly the planets

are involved so you can get a feel for it. These groupings of planets occur

periodically. What makes this one so significant is that it lies on the

ecliptic path and there are three eclipses beginning on May 26th that

promise to keep the cauldron of emotions and world events bubbling.

 

Imagine if you will that you have a wise and rather conservative old uncle

who has come to visit. This is Saturn, he has resided in the constellation

Taurus for over 2 years and is really pretty comfortable there. He has the

wisdom and age and can see how things need to be reorganized and

restructured. He is a cautious investor. He understands the solipsistic

nature of the inner planets and acts as a "truth-teller" or the cosmic

accountant ever trying to avoid the burden of excess and debt. In Taurus,

these qualities are heightened. Saturn is joined in late February by Rahu,

the point of desire, who enters through a back door in the restless mansion

Mrigashira, the hunter. Desires surface and are heightened. This is where

the 6-10th Solar Eclipse will occur.

 

Saturn remains persuasive in the seductive mansion, Rohini. Is the supposed

conservative really searching for truth or is he so seduced by his ideas

that he cannot see his own excess? We will have to wait and see. Now, on

4-7th, Mars the impetuous planet of war comes in. These two struggle. Mars

is like a rouge wolf that tries to sway the pack's emotions toward action

that may be ill conceived. As Mars nears Saturn the grappling and the

gossip heighten. Mars is very persuasive in April and his real motives may

not be visible until much later. The good news, Mars is weak here so anyone

who looks carefully should be able to see self-serving motives. The bad

news, the energy of self-serving groups or "tribal" allegiance is very high

so many won't want to look.

 

Venus enters on 4-20th. Now the goddess of love and compassion really likes

to be in Taurus, but this is also were she is most self-indulgent. She gets

the two guys to work together by suggesting how both might get their needs

met. "I'll give you this if you'll give me that and no one needs to know."

She whispers into each god's ear. She is seductive and most powerful. This

could bring new allegiances on the world front, but expect to hear about

widespread graft either during this time or stemming from this time. Saddam

Hussein's chart has been intensely triggered. He will be most arrogant and

may blatantly swagger onto the world stage.

 

At her best, Venus can mediate; at her worst, she may indicate a new round

of financial influence pedaling and money spent to prop up governments who

serve various interest groups. Our wise old uncle might be persuaded by

Venus' beguiling ways to step out of his conservative stance and throw

resources her way.

 

Mercury joins the visitors on April 27th and brings in his special talents.

As Venus enters her most seductive zone, Mercury the shape-shifter enters

too. He is able to twist words and can be irresistible to special interest

groups. He is an able spokesman or lobbyist and seems so logical when

assisted by Venus' charm it's hard to see the avarice of Mars, the subtle

restructuring of Saturn and the long-reaching consequences of Pluto all in

the mix beneath the surface. When the god of war is in this constellation,

is you don't see his malice until it erupts like Mount Visuvius. Mercury

deals with business so expect big-business to have a huge voice on the world

stage of manipulation and mass-marketing. Then on May 12th the Moon or the

mood of the masses enters. What about their needs? At one extreme there

may be a public outcry to help those who need assistance: Perhaps a struggle

between public and corporate welfare in some form. The Sun enters on

5-14th. The Sun can be the father or the president. Expect announcements

designed to get the masses in line.

 

What might this mean? Well, I don't know for sure. After hours of

searching the only similar time was 1934 when the huge public works programs

were expanded and swiftly voted through congress. They were designed to

build this country and help put people back to work with projects like

parks, damns and stadiums. Perhaps we will see a collective shift in our

economy. I expect it to reveal economic recovery. Will it be for a few or

for the many? We must all remain alert and participate or forever fall

under the spell of a seductive group. The chart hardest hit is that of the

U.S. Constitution. Get your hands on a copy to find out just what this

country was built upon. Don't let anyone think for you or you will be

snookered in the near future. I'll post more about this as it nears. Please

note the old "W" will be most persuasive at this time. I do not get any

sense of terrorist hits. I have been an astrologer long enough to know that

his type of configuration often appears when there are sizeable earthquakes,

but I have no idea where on the world stage one may appear. The astrologer
