Guest guest
Dear Chris Last week I promised I would try to explain the simplicity of Vedic astrology. To all, I am not offering the one and only way, but simply offering the way I have approached this. Note I did not come from a religious perspective. Instead, I tried things and let go what didn't work for me. I always tried to understand or make some sense of "why" it was set up the way it is. Chris, the first thing I explored was the axis of Rahu and Ketu. I knew from Eastern mysticism that the dragon eats his tail and reminds us that we are ever connected with god. I began to look at charts just from this axis. I noticed that the house that Rahu fell in truly showed what the person most desired. In the 4th house he may have had a very chaotic home life so longed for a peaceful one, in the 1st he may feel invisible so longs to be seen, in the 2nd longs to have financial means then ultimately realizes that what he truly longs for is a clear sense of values etc. Rahu the head "thinks" he knows what he wants until he gets it. Ketu, the tail carried the memory of the soul's contract and so through a variety of seemingly crazy life experiences teached the native how to "know" what he wants on an inner level. The more willing one is to trust the "knowing" the less dramtic the swing between the two in constellation, nakshatra and house. Typically, when young or younger the person swings dramaticly from head to tail. It appears that he is swalloed up by a relationship or an experience when Ketu is involved. If explored more closely, that experience led him to let go of what he thought he wanted and to trust what the soul knows he needs. As we near the time when Rahu and Ketu come of age this becomes clearer. This is why it is very difficult to run these dashas when you are young. You tenaciously hold onto your notion of what you want and what you need is a lot foggier. When you enter into a relationship with someone and his Ketu is on your Moon or Venus, it may seem that he swallows you whole. Late you find that you have learned a great deal about yourself and your desire to be swallowed or something akin to that. I find that Rahu and Mars really manifest well in the world. They both seem to know what they want <grins> but that doesn't mean that you are contented when you get it. Try this for a time and see how it works for you. If you can look at the whole chart as an image of life evolution it softens the approach. I like to let the chart talk to me, rather than assuming that I "know" and can speak for it. When you try to memorize everything all you end up with are bits of disparate information. Try looking at a few charts just in terms of this axis. Next ad the Moon and the Moon's yogas...nothing else...and you will see how the person perceives the world and what his expectations are for experience. Merge that with the Rahu Ketu axis and nothing more just to play for a while cynthia
Guest guest
Dear Cynthia, A very interesting post. Would you like to comment on my Rahu conjunct Saturn in the fourth and Ketu conjunct Venus in the 10th. And my partner has his Asc. on my Venus/ketu and his Sun conjunct my Rahu exactly. Who's going to swallow who. I was intrigued because my home life was chaotic and I longed for a peaceful one. There was a lot of psychological and physical abuse. Does Saturn mean I could renounce desires (Rahu). And Venus mean I could love Spirituality (ketu). And my partner > has his Asc. on my Venus/ketu and his Sun conjunct my Rahu exactly. > Who's going to swallow who. Typically it seems that the ketu native swallows the planet. In the case of the lagna, he may find you very compelling and attractive without having words for exactly why. That is the seduction of the dragon. It is not a bod combination, just a very fated one. I've recently met a couple from very different walks of life. They each of Ketu conjoined the other's Venus. They are very happy yet it has been a struggle because her family expected her to marry someone who was more successful. In fact, she is a dynamic business woman and he works with his hands. They are very committed to each other, but the union looks "crazy" to those around them. He is a very good partner for her because he grounds her and she stimulates him to stretch. Hopefully this makes some sense to you. What does your partner have in his 7th that he would attract Rahu there? PErhaps he enjoys intense and seductive women who have had challenges in life to overcome. I was intrigued because my home life > was chaotic and I longed for a peaceful one. There was a lot of > psychological and physical abuse. Does Saturn mean I could renounce > desires (Rahu). Here I might suggest that you renounce the "desire" for a peaceful family of origin and create a peacful family of choice from preinds and your partner. Rahu in the 4th is tricky if you keep hoping that you can gain your mother's love when she is void of it. That is the key to let go, accept that as the karmic knot you came in to unravel and move forward as you are guided by Venus with KEtu to your created family. I see SAturn as a "truth teller" That is why we get so frustrated by his transits. He shows us what "is." We may not like it but it is the truth. Now, with Rahu wanting things to be different and SAturn showing you what "is" your job would simply be to trust the wisdom of Saturn as you get older and create a peaceful home life from what and who is real in your life. Likewise, Venus with Ketu will move you into and out of relationships as spirit moves you. You cannot leave as long as you "know" that you need to stay and you cannot stay after you "know" that you must leave or that you have learned what is necessary. Certainly you can love spirituality and that will help you make sense of what appears to be crazy in the mundane world. Might I recommend the new book by Gary Zukav "The Heart of the Soul" ? c And Venus mean I could love Spirituality (ketu). > Best regards, April > > > On 01 February 2002 04:53, cynthia novak [sMTP:c.a.novak] > wrote: > > Dear Chris > > > > Last week I promised I would try to explain the simplicity of Vedic > > astrology. Guest guest
Dear Cynthia, Your comments made a lot of sense. I have always felt that there is a fated quality to our union. So far it has been exceptionally positive for both. My partner has his Sun and Venus in the 7th in Scorpio, with the Sun exactly conjunct my Rahu. He has a strong Scorpio signature and I have a strong 8th house so this could be the connection that seems to work. I have no idea from a Vedic point of view. Also I was blessed to make sense of my early home situation and the separation of family and since I was 25 have had a great rapport and love for my parents although we all live all over the world and I see them every 4 or 5 years. I've made a wonderful family of like minded people and friends. So you were right. This push to leave my country and make my own life and values has been a great advantage to me so this planetary combination has offered up very positive results. I have read Gary's new book. His books are just great. Thank you so much, April
Guest guest
Dear April Thank you for your comments and I'm so glad to see how well you are using the placements. I always like to ask a person rather than assume. You see, you chose to work with the difficult placements rather than be attacked to the pain. That is the key through the karma and a way of transforming the situation and so your life. The nodes are often given such horrific connotations in Vedic astrology. I love it when a person publicly states the positive movement. cynthia - April Sindorf <aprilstar <gjlist> Friday, February 01, 2002 12:08 PM RE: [GJ]Vedic Astrology is Simple > Dear Cynthia, > Your comments made a lot of sense. Guest guest
Dear Cynthia, thank you for your feed back. I try as an astrologer to empower my clients always to transform and work with the energies in the chart. I have seen remarkable results through a shift in attitude and developing a spiritual practice. Inspiration and a creative approach to the situation on hand is most essential. The challenges are simply where we have been unskilful in our past and now is the time and place to act with more insight and wisdom so that we don't keep repeating these old karmic stuck ways of reacting. Taking full responsibility is key. This is where we get our power to transform. Sure we meet our karma for good or bad. This is how we see what we are creating. But we can do our best to be conscious of what we are creating and in any present moment create seeds of positive intention and action so our future will be well. I have such a long way to go but my life gets better little by little. Astrology has helped so much give me the picture of where and how I was not very good in the past. Of course this enabled me to get past my childhood hurts because I took full responsibility for that karma I had to experience. Also this put me on the spiritual path. Pain is great in this regard. I enjoy your posts. Guest guest
Yes, that is so true. When the pain is behind me and I look back, I feel I am a better person today than what I would have been if I had not had that experience.
