Guest guest
Dear friends, Dasha system of Hindu Astrology is the best tool available to the astrologers for timing events. Fifty four dasha systems have been given by Sage Parashara and 44 by Rishi Jaimini. Among the 54 dashas, Vimshottari is the most commonly used system and can be appolied to all horoscopes generally. Some are conditional Dashas – for example – Mandook Dasha, a rasi dasha, when four planets are posited in Kendras in a horoscope, (Rahu and Kethu are not considered) this Mandook Dasha is to be applied. Likewise the Dwisptati Sama Dasha, a nakshtra dasha, is one of the conditional dasha is to be applied in a horoscope when (a) Lagna Lord is in 7th House or (b) 7th Lord in Lagna or © Lagna Lord in 7th House and 7th Lord in Lagna. On this less known dasha system, in India, a book entitled – Prediciting through Dwisptati Sama Dasha – an original research – by Shri Manoj Pathak has been relesed recently. This research work was guided and edited by Shri K.N. Rao. The applicability, calculation of main periods, sub periods and sub-sub-periods have been dealt with by the author very lucidly. More than 12 horoscopes have been taken ( lagnawise from aries to pisces ) for analysis. The dasha has been applied to the horoscopes and events are pin pointed. The author has taken the hint given by the Maharishi Parashara in his work, Brihat Parashara Hora Sastra, that Vimshottari Vat - meaning thereby the sub-sub periods are to be calculated as that of Vimshottari. A section of enlarged portrait dealing with the horoscopes of famous Indian personalities has been incorporated in the book. For easy calculation of dasha periods, a ready made table has been given which is very user friendly. A very interesting and an excellent reference book for those astrologers who are using multiple dasha systems in their prediction work. Regards, C.S.
