Dear Cynthia

you

<<Once I sat with 3 women. They asked me to do a session helping them find a

way to be creative and somehow work together. One was Moon in Bharani, the 2nd

Moon in Purva Phalguni and the 3rd in Purve Bhadrapadapa. As you know all 3 are

governed by Venus. >>

>From your posting i feel that perhaps here we have the 3 faces of venus as seeing in old cultures.

The Venus of the night (after sunset), the unseen Venus (while close to the

sun), and the Venus of the morning.

Perhaps those 3 constellations are giving us those ideas.

Nevertheless, it seems to me that such a reading was like an omen to you. Each

astrologer attracts clients or readings according to his/her present trends as

seen in the natal chart.

Bharani is called the Star of Restraint. Its symbol is a Yoni and its devata is Yama.

The yoni is sacred and it represents mother nature. Within the yoni lays the

egg which gives the body to the living soul. The soul penetrates the yoni to

reach and fecundate the egg. After a certain period of time, both the egg and

the body are ready as a living being and ready to come out of that yoni.

In a human life, for the first 7 moon months of the pregnancy, the soul is

sleeping and thereafter wokes up and prays to the Lord to be rescued of that

limited and restricted condition. On the 10th moon month, birth occurs and the

soul once free of the previous condition has now a new freedom but is still

limited within a body. With a new birth, the soul forgets the promise given to

the Lord and interacts with the material energy to the point of identifying with

the false ego.

Here, the role of Yama is basic, he supervises the soul on the journey from death to a new life.

In Purvaphalguni, known as the Lucky One, the symbol is a swinging hammock and its devata is Bhaga.

This constellation is also symbolised by a Sivalingam. If Bharani has a Yoni as

a symbol, here in this constellation ruled as well by Venus, we have the

counterpart to that yoni, the Sivalingam, or the phallic symbol.

The devata Bhagya gives good luck.

In the 3rd constellation ruled by Venus, which is called Purvashada (the

Invincible One), known as well as Aparajita (undefeated), the symbol is a

winnowing basket or a fan, and its devata is Toya or water.

you

<< It was an intense and exhaustive session, and something I will not do again.>>

me

I know how exhausting it can be but i know as well that you will do it again

because it is a challenge to yourself, a learning and a duty.

you

<<I say 3 faces of the goddess and each one intense and determined. I came out

of that session with the understanding that Venus was not a 2-dimensional

caricature as often portrayed in Greco-ROman mythology. She has the courage to

go to the underworld, the power to give birth and the pleasant demeanor to make

anyone comfortable with gracious hospitality.>>

me

The Greco-Roman culture describes only a part of their understanding. The so

called "mythology" was later on added by the "conquerors" to minimize, distort

or nulify the influence of that "defeated" culture.

For the Greco-Romans it was a living knowledge and not a mythology as our

present leaders are trying so hard to sell us that information.

Best wishes
