Would anyone be interested in a discussion about the potential for war? I'm more interested in various views than the astrology, but the latter is of course what we are all interested in. Guest guest Posted January 22, 2002 Report Share Posted January 22, 2002 Cynthia, I think the chart in common usage for India is the independence chart Aug 15 1947 00.00 IST Delhi. Please see an earlier post a few days ago for some of my thoughts on it. One can look at the Pisces New Moon chart as well, as Pursottam has done, and the solar return chart is also useful. The solar return chart for 2001, which is in effect now, is troubled. 20Aq44 rises and lagnesh Saturn 19Ta33 is opposed by Pluto 18Sc47 (Note to Skinbags: the only reason why my posts appear "fastidious" and somewhat dense is because I place a lot of importance on the actual positions of the planets, rather than the simple house positions). This Saturn is casting its 10H aspect exactly on the lagna. Very difficult and suggests some titanic struggles ahead. 6L Moon 26Ta10 of conflict and enemies is exactly conjunct the 4H cusp 26T11 and this is exactly opposed by Mars 25Sc38. Moon is exalted of course but that exact Mars aspect overwhelms it and spells bad times for the people and the land. 7L of war Sun 28Cn05 is closely opposed by surprising Uranus 29Cp07. An invasion is very possible before the next return in August. The 2001 Pisces New Moon parallax chart (March 25 2001 6.50.24 am IST) is also troubled by Mars. 25Aq31 rises and Mars 24Sc13 closely squares that point, indicating some sort of violence will occur. Of course, some violence (out of the ordinary) has in fact occurred with the terrorist attack on Parliament, but this configuration looks more severe, especially coupled with the other charts, and thus the notion that the violence hasn't yet come to end. To get a sense of how important a tight Mars aspect is to the ascendant in foretelling war or some other violent episode, compare the USA Pisces New Moon parallax chart (March 26 1990, 4.20.06 pm EST) in 1990, before the Gulf War. The ascendant is 17Le53 and Mars 17Cp41 exactly casts its 8H aspect there. Besides the reminding us of the importance of keeping tabs on Mars, this is also an important demonstration of why taking exact degrees in account is necessary. Without the exactness of this aspect, I sincerely doubt war would manifest. I thought they said during independence celebrations but that didn't seem right seeing independence was granted in August.
