Guest guest
Hi Andrew you wrote <<Does anybody really know how to use all these dashas? I doubt it as Parasara himself never said how to interpret them all clearly. >> me A little bit of Vedic knowledge can help because it is organic. That means, the parts interact with the whole Vedic system. Vedic astrology is just a part of the massive vedic knowledge. When Kali yuga was starting on the 18 february 3102 BC, the great yoguis and masters knew that they had to compile into writing most of the Vedic knowledge on behalf of the souls to be born thereafter and for the next 432,000 years. Before Kali yuga, vedic knowledge was memorised and given orally from teachers to students. A teacher is the one that imparts knowledge, guides and holds the key of the knowledge that he is given. This system is followed in all the vedic sciences and arts. There are ayurveda (medical science), dhanurveda (military science), gandharvaveda (musical science), silpa sastra (art and architecture), jyotirvidya (astrology) etc. Parasara and the other 17 fathers of vedic astrology compiled into writing the most basic teachings, leaving outside a lot of oral tradition to be transmitted from teacher to student. In Kali yuga, we can learn from books up to a certain limit because we will always need the missing key which can be only given by the mercy of a guru. Perhaps Parasara himself never said how to interpret charts all clearly because that function was left to gurus. In our modern education, some guidelines are given to teachers but ultimately, every teacher has his/her own style of teaching. you <<What about Dhum. Gullika and the upagrahas, we have no actual idea what they are, are they the nodes of other planets? Are they astral planets? Who knows? >> me Teachers know. you <<All we have is other peoples interpretations of them at best and this troubles me given what I've seen from these people on the net and lists.>> me The absence of what you are searching for does not mean its denial. Search with sincerity and perhaps in this life time, you may be rewarded with what you are searching for. The Bhagavad Gita has given the guidlines, "approach the guru with humility and service and the guru will give you the truth because he has seen the truth" you << The point I'm trying to make is not to attack you personally but to focus on what we do know rather not what we don't know. The nakshatras are very esoteric and there is little in print about them. While Parasara may have given other lords I think for clarity we should stick to one basic system- for everone's sake.......>> me The whole vedas deal with both the exoteric and the esoteric, the conceivable and the inconceivable. Search with sincerity and you will find. Best wishes Natabara Das
