Guest guest
Dear Christopher One point on your prediction of a stock market collapse on October 28 is that I think there is a limit to how far they allow the index to fall before closing the market .Nonetheless if that limit is reached I'll take my wide brimmed Aussie sun hat off to you ,P1 ,P2,P3 and P4 .If nothing happens next week you will have written the longest and most widely publicised suicide note in internet jyotish history : - ) Best Wishes Nicholas
Guest guest
Nicholas, Oh dear! Schadenfreude (sp?) abounds! One of the impulses behind me putting that stuff up was that there seems to be an relative absence of people on this list talking about real charts and predicting real events. This is difficult to do with charts of individuals known only to the astrologer, but it does work with people in the public eye and with countries' charts. It's very easy to debate the minutiae of this or that ancient text, but I find it intellectually unfulfilling. Perhaps that's just me. So rather than a "suicide note", I'm just trying to discuss some astrological principles in a constructive fashion by attempting to make some predictions. Isn't that the point? What better way to find out what really works and why than by testing the principles in "real time", ie before they've actually happened. When we look at charts retrospectively, we're less likely to really figure out which factors were important, owing to our inherent biases and incomplete knowledge. Of course, we can make still make correct predictions based on flawed principles, but I think they are less likely to show false positive results. Real charts, predicting events!! Heaven forbid Christopher, what do you think this is- an astrological list or something. Surely we should stick to petty bickering about fruitless points of interpretation from the ancient texts. We could also spend more time in sly character assassination of the people who are not deemed spiritually pure enough to understand Vedic astrology. > This is difficult to do with charts of individuals known only to the > astrologer, but it does work with people in the public eye and with > countries' charts. Well, trying to meaningfully interpret charts and make predictions might actually reveal who actually knows something about our great science- so don't hold your breath. It is far more important to baffle newcomers with long sanskrit words and technical jargon that has no real use in actual chart interpretation. Perhaps that's > just me. It is better to die on your feet than live on your knees and you at least have the gonads to make a public prediction without worrying about your ego. I personally would rather make 100 predictions and be wrong 99 times rather than not try at all. People can't seem to get it into their heads that the ramifications of being able to regularily make accurate predictions is F.......huge. A person who could clearly make accurate predictions about the future would be courted by every world government and make millions. If you look realistically at the standard of modern astrology you can see we have so far to go. We are infants to this great science. Unfortunately there is people who have a vested interest in keeping it all mysterious and secret. Then they can just make it up as they go along as nobody can tell if they are using legitimate techniques or not. This is why I re-started my group- to make astrology more transparent. If you make a technical point, you should be prepared to back it up with an example or two in a chart of a well known person. Too many people are putting words in the mouth of Parashara and they would be better spending time proving to themselves what works and what doesn't. Then again, the Gurus of Vedic astrology would go broke then wouldn't they........... Well I looked at the recent copy of the "Mountain Astrologer" at the book shop and was amazed at how many "big name" astrologers actually new about the attacks on America on September 11. They all had "private" discussions about it but never mentioned it to anybody! Stephen Quong predicted American cities would be attacked by nuclear weapons before 2001 closed. He says on his web site the anthrax scares vindicated and proved his predictions to be correct!! I once went to KN Raos site and went back over all his world predictions over a number of years- not one came true. The world is full of hopesalesmen making money from other peoples insecurities and fear of the unknown future. I myself have predicted some events for next week- if I'm right good and well, but if I'm wrong which is more likely- then so what. Back to the drawing board wiser for the future. The difference between us and the above person is we don't charge U.S $300 for a reading..................
