Guest guest
Dear Partha, Yes, Mercury is a badhaka for Dhanus and Meena, so is guru for Kanya and Mithuna Janma Lagnas. This is their inherent function when the lagnas a common signs. If Mercury and Jupiter are in dusthanas, it is good as the native is saved from Kendradhipathi. Hence, natural benefics as Lords of kendra should necessarily be associated with malefics / placed in dusthanas. Guest guest
Dear Partha The concept of Badhaka is not used in Jataka (reading of the birth horoscope) . Lords of the quadrants and trines are best placed in trines and quadrants this is where one gets favourable yogas as described by Parasara ..It is a weakness of the lord of a trine or quadrant to be placed in a dusthana (6,8 or 12) .However for Mercury's lagnas Jupiter has the status of maraka or death wielder which is applicable in it's dashas or bhuktis .For Jupiter's signs Mercury has the status of Maraka .It is not unusual for jyotishis to mix up these concepts but hear is the clear understanding .
