Guest guest
Dear Carol <<If there is a bacterium born at the same time and place as the human baby, is it a twin and gets the same horoscope, or does genetics have a say in the longevity and marriage prospects of the child "twin" of a bacterium, denying a similar lifespan and in-laws for the bacterium?.. A very good question. I have to say that vedic astrology is a branch of the vedas and the vedas explain everything as working in an organic way. Although there is God, or Krishna behind this material creation, there are millions of demigods supervising every part of this creation. In this society we can see different leaders supervising order and balance. In a similar way this cosmic manifestation is under the supervision of very intelligent beings called devas or demigods. Mother Durga is considered as the superintendent of this material nature, and one of her functions is to provide to the souls a suitable body, according to karma (mars) and desires (venus). Mother Durga is known in different cultures by different names. Mother Durga is very efficient and she makes sure that every body born in this creation has a different horoscope. Even ideas have a horoscope but they are born at a suitable time controlled by higher authoritues. I hope that this posting helps to give an idea of what vedic astrology implies. Guest guest
Thank you for responding to my 'curiosity' question, which was meant to be a little bit humorous as well as a point to think about. Bacteria would have different 'parents' than a baby, so it wouldn't have similar relatives and in-laws, nor the same lifespan, to be sure. I like what you said about ideas being given a suitable horoscope by higher authorities...it makes me think that one might ask the higher authorities to help give birth to the best ideas at the right time! I wonder if the devas or demi-gods are similar or the same as the Western world's word for "angels watching over us"? I think I read that certain devas are specifically assigned to a person by the characteristics of his/her horoscope....or maybe the person is specifically attuned to that deva (?) Mother Durga sounds like the term "Mother Nature" that I heard about while growing up. Would this be the same? Many thanks for your response, Natabara.
