Guest guest
Hello! All, I posted the following query to the vedic astrology site with little response. I am hoping to get more of a feedback and help from here. Thanks for your time in advance. Respected Members, I have a few questions regarding sade sathi (saturn) period. How does the ill-effects of the 7.5 year sade sathi period manifest for children? I have two kids who will be starting this period when Saturn moves into Gemini in July of this year of 2002. Both were born under punarvasu 4th pada (cancer Rasi). The older one is a boy with Gemini lagna and Saturn in Moolatrikona in Aquarious in 9th house. The younger one is a girl with scorpio lagna with Saturn debilitated in Aries in the 6th house. What can I expect in terms of how this period will affect them given the different strengths of Saturn in both the charts? I went through this during my twenties with many bad memories. Lost my mother as soon as the period started. Had a terrible time establishing career and generally faced a lot of resistence and problems in all aspects of life. Though everything turned out OK in the end, it left a bad taste in my mouth so to speak. The final blessing that the saturn bestowed on me (as the 4th and 5th lord) just before the period ended was the birth of my son. I had all this trouble with a Libra lagna and the saturn being a yogakaraka in the moolatrikona sign of aquarious in 5th (note that my son got the same placement of saturn as me and my husband who has it in acquarious also). My question is, are there any remedies one could follow to reduce any ill-effects on the children? How about adults? Are they different? My husband who has leo rasi and aries lagna will be starting this period also in another 3 years when Saturn moves into Cancer at which point all three of them are in sade sathi. I am absolutely dreading this situation and would like to hear from the gurujis for facing this situation with strength and courage. Your wisdom and knowledge is greatly appreciated. Regards, sma
Guest guest
Dear Sma I have not heard that sade sati effects children . I have conceptual doubts about sade sati triggering death of parents . I have 7 siblings and when my parents pass on logically one or two will be in sade sati and the rest won't . Bad transits of Saturn are only one factor in the progress of life and only 3,10 and 11 are considered good tranists . Noone has 7 1/2 years of all bad luck . Your children may have some difficulty when Saturn passes over their Lagnas because Saturn is very malefic for Cancer. It is best not to dread sade sati but try to learn from unpleasent events that may come up . Pious life is the best remedial measure for previous karmic errors . The best mantra for the age is the Hare Krsna Maha Mantra that can be chanted anytime . This works well with the cultivation of spiritual knolwedge to understand the temporariness of both happiness and distress in this world . Hope this helps Nicholas - "smaskp" <srevya <gjlist> Tuesday, January 08, 2002 2:36 AM [GJ] sade sathi(saturn) - Need help and guidance > Hello! Guest guest
Dear Sma, Sadi Sati does not (generally) produce the same degree of suffering, struggles or disappointments in the lives of children because, like them, Saturn has not yet matured. Much depends of course on the position of Saturn in their charts and the dasas running at the time. If they're in a dasa of Saturn then, naturally, his effects will be strongly felt. Without actually seeing the charts it's impossible to tell you what the effects of Sadi Sati will be.
