Guest guest
Zamani, Thanks for the link. Too bad it's the usual western psycho stuff. And why was I not surprised by the line "I do not believe that the Sept 11 attacks could have been predicted"? This is the usual excuse from astrologers who didn't predict it in order to forestall any criticism about their abilities. Something as huge as Sept 11 most definitely ought to have been predictable and definitely WAS predicted by a number of astrologers, both east and west. And it's fairly easy to see a malefic configuration in Bush's chart for September using various progressions. I find it even more peculiar that people like Greene employ specific USA charts like the Sibley chart in order to make sense post facto of an event. How can they select one natal USA chart over another if it doesn't "fit" events? If it fits events, then you can use it to predict events. Why are we bothering with astrology if not to predict events and outcomes? This is yet another reason why astrology is racket preying upon the weak, vulnerable, and impressionable. Guest guest
I really enjoyed reading Liz Greene's article. I personally identified with much of what she said. This afternoon the radio said that the big crystal ball was just now being hoisted up the pole for New Year's celebration in NYC, and then he added that the names of firemen who lost their lives attempting to rescue persons in the WTC, were inscribed upon individual pieces of crystal that had been added to that "2002" crystal ball. I was born in the state of New York. I used to take the New Haven railroad train to NYC on Wednesdays after high school, to take classes in the City and then return back home to the suburbs where we lived. I'd go to the City on a Saturday afternoon, wander around the Metropolitan Museum, or Wall Street, or the Guggenheim Museum, Museum of Modern Art, the Museum of the American Indian, or Rockefeller Center, or even Greenwich Village. I was drawn to the vibrancy of New York. Its fast-walking, fast-talking people, its mix of different pavements and building facades and store displays, its beautiful, haunting cathedrals, its street vendors selling a small bag of hot chestnuts on a windy corner for the exorbitant price of 50 cents--the hot chestnuts would warm my cold fingers on a winter day--its sounds of subway trains roaring beneath your feet, the beautiful strains of a violin held to the cheek of a student at Julliard who was playing for donations today.... The City (was there any other like it? no, we thought not!) had a profoundly magnetic effect on those who were lucky enough to go there. I heard the radio person speak today of the heroic firemen whose names are attached to the "2002" crystal ball being hoisted up on Times Square. I cried when I thought again of those selfless men, trying to save their fellow citizens, and being crushed alive, mercilessly killed--all because of misdirected hatred that was given a place to grow in human hearts. Ever since the attack, the thought of such a loss that our country sustained--and not nearly as large as India's loss in the Earthquake of Gujarat, it still hurts. After the Pentagon was hit, i waited a few weeks, but I had to go there and photograph it to make it 'real' to me...but most of my photos were of the handmade notes and hearts and photos of missing loved ones...it was deeply moving. I never knew any of these people, but they loved. Our country is wounded such as it hasn't been before. Why the suffering? asks the mother and the father and the younger ones and the older ones. Liz Greene seems to say we (and the world) can grow better as a result of our response to all that has happened. Is Ms. Greene holding out hope for the weary to hold on to, is she correctly telling us good results are happening in the world now, or is she being too idealistic? Rudy Guiliani, the mayor of New York City, said that when he first addressed NYC after the attack, he'd used Churchill's inspirational words, but hardly had belief the city could recover....yet it is doing that....i wonder, is it the hope he gave us, or was he correctly telling us that good things would happen, or was he too idealistic? A most happy New Year is wished for all of you. May the peoples and countries of our world solve their problems peacefully, may those who lack food and shelter, receive it, may those who cry, be comforted. God Bless you! Guest guest
Dear Chris Liz Greene is a well known, and likely very old, psycho-archetypal astrologer. The specifics of the events were not likely predictable because no one has the time to review every chart for every day of every year. That said, I did predict that if there were to be a terrorist strike it would come the week of 9-10th and I did that using nakshatras AND the chart for the US that speaks to me. I only got this accuracy because I look at a number of charts for my web site. Most astrologers do not do this and so miss it. I am also certain that intuition played a big part. The whole time I wrote that month's entries I felt deeply depressed and just wanted to get it over with. I was so sad, the my sweetie suggested that I just skip the month. My response, "I can't, I wish I could but I just can't." That was not meaning unable, but meaning that something compelled me to write it. The rest of the month I wrote about dealing with sadness and feelings of vulnerability. It was no picnic, but neither was it a detached mental exercise. You can call astrologers frauds if you want, and even include me. I do not know who was preyed upon by me, as one astrologer, selecting the US chart that has worked well for me for many years. sincerely c - Christopher Kevill <ckevill <gjlist>; <gjlist> Monday, December 31, 2001 4:16 PM Re: [GJ] Liz Greene on the September 11th attacks ( A must read for everyone) > Zamani, > > Thanks for the link. This isn't my sense of the word unpredictable. It's not unpredictable because one doesn't have time to look at it every day, unpredictable means that even if you had time, you couldn't have predicted it. Those are two different things. I think Greene's meaning was that it was astrologically impossible to predict it. And that is where I disagree with her. You took the time to examine the charts concerned and make a good prediction. That's great -- your astrologer's karma must be on the rise! Chris
Guest guest
Allow me to cut in here.... I have not really read Liz Greene's article on the WTC/Pentagon attacks. If, however, as Chris says, Liz Greene says the attacks were unpredictable, then I must conclude that a) Liz Greene is coping out, or b) she must have meant that the actual prediction of the specific attack is impossible, but only possible in "general" terms. I remember that week before the attacks, I could see Mars coming to a conjunction with Ketu in Mula. Things were starting to heat up in the Middle East. I thought there could have been very well some flare-up in the Middle East or some other flashpoint on the globe. Doing mundane predictions one has to be up on the real political situations in various parts of the world. I and many other people in the know could have told you that an attack against the US like 9-11 was not a matter of if but when. We were (and still are) in a period of danger. Saturn is opposing Pluto. While Pluto is a wildcard from the Vedic standpoint, it is still there and it should not be ignored. The Saturn/Pluto oppostion falls right on the US Ascendant (7-4-1776; 5.12 pm). Pluto means destruction and hopefully rebuilding. With the Saturn/Pluto situation things were ripe for change. With the addition of Mars conjunct Ketu in Mula opposite Jupiter in Gemini, things became only more ripe for precipitating. The chart of George W. Bush and his inauguration do not help the situation. Basically, things were very much in favor of going to "hell". To complete the equation we need the factual details of the geo-political situation. We simply were caught with our politicians building their dream castle new world order in the sky and the rest were watching "Survivor" or else building our dream castles in the sky with their business and investments. The enemies struck as Mars conjuncted Ketu opposed Jupiter. America woke up (somewhat) the astrology is actually playing out, and it is not all played out yet.
