Guest guest
Dear natabara and list I would add a few points to the last post. I have read quite extensively on history of civilization and also seen discover profiles. The theory that our civilization started from the times of egyptians, babylonians, the sumerians and the indus valley needs to have a serious relook. There is a strong evidence that Before the last great ice-age there was a great civilization flourishing on our earth. The sphinx , the pyramids of giza are constructed on the basis of the astronomical features which are found in the sky. The three pyramids of giza are constructed in a traingular shape that actually corresponds to a great constellation of ths sky(starts with letter d). The sphinx was constructed on the lines of the great constellation of leo. But 5000 years ago the leo was not facing the statue of Sphinx. if we rotate the skies further back, in east exactly 10100 years ago the sphinx was exactly facing the constellation of leo. Another startling discovery is that the sphinx is eroded by water, and there are some depositional features found on the sphinx which are the result of heavy rainfall for many years. But here is the hitch, there has been no rainfall in the territoy of sphinx since last 5000 years. Any geography student will tell you that depostional and erosional features are the result of extensive(wind, water and air) flows. When there is no rainfall since last 5000 years then how come the sphinx was constructed in the egyptian era???? It was constructed by a great civilization which flourished during ice -age. The great angkor vat temple in cambodia has this peculiar 54 series repeating itself. If one measures the temple premises then the constructions are made wtih the slabs that are actually measuring 54 feet? The 54 actually represents 54 degrees that the constellations are having as an inclination with the temple(trignometry). Now these fellows were very clever. the great angkor vat temple has a dome like strucure. The point at the top of the temple has been constructed in such a fashion that the sunrise on 22nd march and 22nd september is with the minaret of the temple. Even the inca and aztec temples have statues of men who are facing towards sky. they are watching the sky. for europeans the good news is that the stone henge in england is also very perculiar and represents some astronomical number or feature. I can go on and on, but there are many startling discoveries which i would share later. regards partha gjlist, "natabara" <natabara@n...> wrote: > DEAR LIST > > In school i have learned that the Iliad And Odisea of Homer are considered to be classics of literature just like The Ramayana and The Mahabharatha from India. > > Recently i have read a book called Homer's Secret Iliad by Florence and kenneth Wood. The return of Achilles to the field of battle is an allegory for the appearance in the sky of Greece of the star Sirius c. 8,900 BC". > > From that book we can see that AGAMEMNON , "king of men" is Regulus. Nestor is Capella in Auriga. Menelaus is Antares in Scorpio. Diomedes is Mirphak from Perseus. But Hipparcus lived some 600 years after Homer and the Vedas were compiled from oral tradition into written soon after Kali yuga started around the year 3102 BC. The Surya Sidhanta is a vedic treaty and a book dealing on astronomy-astrology and it describes precession. > > We have a recent uncovered evidence that the Incas as well knew about precession and they have hidden the fact in their "mythology". I have not read the book about it yet, but i have seen the TV programme and the evidence is amazing. > > After reading about those facts we can think that other cultures also have hidden their knowledge within their mythology. > > I know that the Mayas had different names and shapes for their constellations but they were aware of their influence on earth. > > The Incas knew that they were going to have a decline in their golden age by looking at the precession. After the decline, an Inca king predicted that after 100 years the Spaniards were going to take over. He based his prediction based mainly on the fact that the Sun, which was rising within the limits of the Milky Way, was moving to the left and in 100 years from then, it was going to raise "outside" the Milky Way due to the precession of the equinox. > > Best wishes > Natabara Das
