Guest guest
Dear Nicholas <<Generally the chanting of the Hare Krsna Maha Mantra counteracts volumes of sins or brahmin curses from previous lives but it can not be used to counteract future sins .>> Generally speaking that can be the case, but you forget to say that the chanting has to be 100% pure to do the job. Can you tell me who does that? No many. One thing is the theory and another the practice. Yes the chanting helps but first we have to practice and eventually, once the dust in our heart has been cleared, or our anarthas tamed, and with the help of the grace from our gurus, that we can be able to deal with any karma. The curse of a brahman is a mega job and it is foolish to think that just by chanting it will dissapear. The chanting can do it as i say but still we have to deal with the job. The chanting helps to prepare one to deal with karmas. We have to deal with them. It is nice to think that others will do the job for us, but it is our responsability to deal with our karmas. Our guides only help but the job is ours. We need a lot of things to minimize or counteract any curse. Even Maharaja Pariksit got cursed by a brahmin boy and instead of counteracting that curse, MP took it as the grace of Krishna. Without that attitude we could not have had the Srimad Bhagavatam. As long as we have a heavy karma to deal with, we can not advance either materially or spiritually. The chanting is the beginning of a path to Godhead. Some see nice gardens along that path and decide to stay there. Others walk along that path until the end. Best Wishes Natabara Das
