Guest guest
Dear Cynthia <<One text on the art of ancient India suggests that a mother goddess was the 1st deity to appear within the lotus and was later knockedout and replaced. >> The vedas are revealed according to the inner intentions of the student. Those that love mother, will get the relevant literature regarding her. So other demigods appear as well. In the absolute level, we are guided to higher levels of understanding until we get the revelation of God as He/She. For example, we are told that the Puranas are 18, 6 are for those on the tamasic level, 6 for those in rajas and 6 for those in satva. According to our inner intentions we develop an attraction for them and our spiritual path starts. At one point in eternity, we get His/her grace and our false ego dissapears. It is only from this level that we start to move upwards and higher revelations are given by Their Grace. >From the relative plane we still have a choice of either patriarcal or matriarcal, but from the absolute plane that definition is diferent. Most of us are on the relative plane and therefore conditioned by either male or female guidance. In fact one of the first conditionments to our soul is gender. Either we are male or female, but the vedas give room for 3 sexes making life more easy to everyone. Once we get accros this relative conditionment, we are ready to appreciate absolute truths. <<Why, then, I ask myself are virtually all of them given a male deity?>> We arrive to a certain point in history to see that male dominance. One day, an student asked my guru why there is a difference in the description of the universe, between the present scientists and the vedas? He said that we see the universe according to how our society is advancing. 20 years ago, most of the countries were leaded by males but that started to change and soon we started to see leading females. Who knows if in the future we will see females dominating the naksatras? Best wishes natabara
