Guest guest
Dear Wendy and Dharmapada, First Wendy: It is refreshing to be in agreement with all that you have written! Dharmapada: What Wendy writes is very sound, logical Jyotish. First of all, if the lord of the lagna also becomes the lord of the Moon sign (Shubha-pati), and is in exaltation, it uplifts the native regardless of what house it is in. Secondly, as Wendy says, the dispositor Jupiter, from the 9th, aspects the lagna and 10th lord Moon, as well as the natural house of self-expression, music, etc., i.e. the 3rd, as well as 11th lord Sun in the 5th. Note that the Moon is in the 3rd also from the Arudha lagna, a vantage point from which we can see "how high the person rises" (a literal definition of Arudha). This is how you can account for fame and position, while at the same time, seeing why the rest of the person's life was rather a disaster, considering health, love, association, depression, mediocre longevity, etc. * Next point, divisional charts: Parasara never meant to teach the elaborate system of vargas, and then say that you should just forget about it, and read the rasi chart alone (please excuse my departure from your opinions on this Wendy and Dharmapada, it is plain and simple, Parasari astrology that we are doing here). If there is doubt about the rasi lagna, vargas will help you. Re: Navamsa: Parasara says, that if the Sun is exalted in the rasi, yet debilitated in the Navamsa, Raja-brashta yoga occurs, i.e. the destruction of Raja-yoga. Now, if the Navamsa were unimportant as you say Dharmapada, why does the Sun's debilitation in it as above, cancel Raja-yoga in the chart, even though it occupies an exalted Rasi position? And why does Parasara devote a whole chapter in BPHS to discussing the Navamsa position of the Atmakaraka (Karakamsa), if we are just to make a cursory study of the Navamsa? Now, so far as luxuries, vehicles, and properties are concerned: The relevant chart is the Shodasamsha, D-16. It should show the blessings of wealth in the form of limousines, mansions, etc., if we have the right chart for GH. Taking 23:53:05 as the adjusted time, you get Cancer rising in D-16 with the Moon (nice, huh?); but that's not all: 4th lord Venus exalted in the 9th, with yoga-karaka Mars, and both aspected by Jupiter from the 5th. Now that is satisfying, isn't it? Coming back to the rasi chart: Like I mentioned in my last post, there have to be some additional tools with which to tell the difference between the results of Laksmi and Dhana yogas in different charts of varying degrees of achievement: For example, Bill Gates has a nice Laksmi yoga in his 5th house. Why was he a multi-billionaire, whereas someone else with that combination (Sun/Saturn/Venus in Libra for Ge. rising), is a school teacher? How would you tell, Dharmapada? And if someone presented you with the Virgo rising version of GH's chart, without knowing whose chart it was, could you tell that it was someone of the fame and stature of GH? The clues lie in special lagnas: Hora lagna, Ghatika lagna, and the natural lagna. If these lagnas, or their lords, are all conjoined or mutually aspecting, then Raja and Dhana yoga results in mega proportions. These clues are given in the Jaimini Sutram and BPHS, if you look for them. Exalted Venus rules the lagna, the Hora lagna, and Ghatika lagna (HL and GL are both in Taurus); the Moon occupies lagna and aspects HL and GL; while Yogakaraka Saturn occupies HL and GL, aspecting lagna. Aspects here, are by rashi aspect. The terminology is Maha-yogada, and GH has three of them. With Venus ruling the 10th from Arudha lagna, AK Rahu being in the Arudha lagna, and with all of Jupiter, Saturn, and Moon occupying or aspecting the 3rd from AL, you have plentiful yogas for greatness in the realm of music specifically. Some final tidbits: the 2nd house is the throat, not the 3rd, as you think Dharmapada. Ta/Sc form a natural axis: you put food in here, it comes out here! Thus the mouth and throat are the beginning of digestion, and anus is the end stage. 3rd house is the upper chest region. The 2nd house in the Virgo rising chart is not afflicted at all. Thus, my original point is, how did he thus die from throat cancer? Anyway, you still haven't answered by question about longevity. I posted two methods of showing the term as medium - Wendy showed how the death took place in a place foreign to his birth or residence. Respond to these positions, please. Thank you - Please respond in a detached, scholarly way - I do not mean to make you upset. :-) Robert ===================================== Robert A.
