Guest guest
Zamani: When I first read this, I had thought you meant here Ascendant-reckoned Vinshottari Dasha sequence. I know that you have likely been influenced by Mumin on this score, but beware of its extreme sensitivity to birth time changes! The more standard way of calculating VD is with the Moon's position and thankfully that is not as sensitive to birth time changes. If one minute= four days is sensitive to you, then I guess everyone's different. To me, it's just not that big a deal. Predictions made with VD don't usually turn on a given day or week. It is usually a much more general instrument of prediction, say isolating the year or time of the year an event may occur. Transits and other techniques may help to narrow it down to the month or week. Guest guest
Dear Zamani I personally do not think Vedic astrologers should have too much trouble rectifying their own chart . The reason is that the pratyantara dashas change reasonably frequently and by observing which issues drift in and out of one's life one can be assured that one has the correct birth time . So for example I am Virgo rising and the Sun rules the 12th house of feet .I was running a Sun PD from October 20 to December 4th and had a mysterious foot problem from November 5th to December 4th which has now gone and remains undiagnosed despite numerous medical tests .Of course the period during which the feet were badly swollen was considerably in my thoughts and those of others who knew me . I have seen this type of accuracy in Vimshottari constantly over many years of observing my own chart . Rectifying other's charts is more difficult but I think this principle of using pratyantara dashas as the trigger for events is a helpful one .
