Hello Learned Jyotishis,

I have a very naive question. Normaly the charts are drawn based on

signs and the house cusp (begining of the house) falls, lets say for

the

first house, for example, at 12 degrees in aries, then it (the 1st

house) will spill over in Taurus upto 11 degrees. So, how one does

determine the lordships and apstects etc on a given house ? Does one

first look at the effects of a given sign on the native?

Dear Surendra

In traditional jyotish the houses are fixed . So the 1st house is a

complete sign .So if the Lagna is 16 Virgo then the 1st house stretches from

0 to 30 degrees Virgo . If the Lagna is 29 Virgo the 1st house is still 0 to

30 degrees Virgo .

Hope this helps

Nicholas
