Guest guest
Dear Carol <<Lest I continue in ignorance, I now ask the vedic community what is the standard of ethics regarding a professional astrologer's knowledge of another's birth data. ..>> Karma is action and reaction. There can be subtle and gross karma. The ignorance of a child does not overule getting burn if the child touches fire. Sometimes we do karma in a direct or indirect form or with evil, good or neutral intentions. Just like when adults can read the intentions of a child, so higher authorities can red our hearts and a karmic assessment is given by them. We do not have any juridiction on that plane. What i have learned from my teachers is that any professional that uses and abuses its professional knowlege, gets a karma accordingly. Teachers, architects, bankers, lawyers, doctors, astrologers etc are supossed to work with a selfless attitude. To use knowledge for selfless aims or to abuse knowledge, carries a reaction. Recently i heard that a so called vedic astrologer told a lady that she only had 5 years to live. So that lady is now very worried. I do not know for who i should feel more sorry, for that lady or for that astrologer that gave unnecessary worries. Karma is karma and it has to be paid sooner or later. I heard about a vedic astrologer that went to prison for refusing to give details in a Court of Justice about one of his clients. He claimed confidential knowledge. I think that if i am put in a similar position, i would do the same, go to prison rather than to disclose confidential information. Regarding birth details, i try my best no to disclose DOB but only of those persons that belong to the public dominion or that their dob has been already published in books or magazines. Then again, when i give readings of famous people to the public i try no to exploit or manipulate information to satisfy my ego or lower propensities. Guest guest
Dear Natabara, It is helpful to all of us, to consider the question of confidentiality between an astrologer and one whose chart he holds in his/her possession. Some persons may not be concerned about publicizing any of their birth details while others may wish their birth placements to remain confidential. At all times it is well for this to be carefully discussed whenever an astrologer desires to make public another's birth placements. My husband introduced me to a friend in this area (Washington, D.C.) last June whose doctor's medical treatment saved his life--thus breaking all records; no-one else had ever lived when in such a condition. The doctor's methods not only saved this man but within the week a second man had survived the same "fatal" condition due to having the same doctor. It made medical history. In the case of my husband's friend, he is willing to allow other doctors to examine his madical records, so others may live. But always the individual's permission is sought before these things are made available. It is reassuring to know that our astrological community has these sensitivities, and I am thankful for everyone's replies. Best wishes, Carol
