How do we determine the arudha lagna when scorpio or aquarius are

rising?How do we decide whether mars or ketu is stronger,or saturn or rahu?Does

ketu as ruler of the rasi lagna behave like it's dispositor to the extent that

one should use the house of it's dispositor when analyzing the house position

of the lagna lord in preference to ketu's house position?Based on my wife's

chart 7/11/1949 at 16:19 TZ5 in Miami ,Florida.I personally would pick cancer

as arudha lagna,but her rasi lagna lord behaves more like mercury which

disposits ketu. Thoughts,Dave

Dear Dave,

The rules to judge the stronger between dual lords are..

(The rules are mutually exclusive in the order given)

1. If one of them in own sign then other becomes the lord.

2. One more conjunct with more planets.

3. One aspected by one or more of it's dispositor(i.e Rahu/Ketu's

or Saturn/Mars's dispositor ),Merc, Jupiter.

4. One in stronger sign Dual >> Fixed >> Movable.

5. One in Higher degree.

 

Since in your wives case between Ketu/Mars rule 1,2,3 gives equal

score, Rule 4 is applied and we get a winner and rule 5 is not

applied.

 

To Verify the the Arudha Lagna(AL) try applying rules

like Planets in AL etc

1. Venus in AL gives Poetry and Good speaker. (Parashara and JUS).

also consider Venus strength.

2. 11th from AL gives income. Mars in 11th from brother/co-borns.

3. 12th from AL gives loses indicated by the planets.

Sun father, Merc Relatives and business etc.
