Guest guest
A fellow Astrologer swears by the superiority and the accuracy of calculating Vimshottari Dashas from the Lagna postion. He believes that while the Dashas calculated from the Traditional Moon Position are effective , that using the Ascendant is both more effective and is more accurate in terms of timing and so forth. He has even gone as far to say that the Moon Dashas are somewhat archaic, and were only the preffered doshas becasue of the uncertainty of birthtimes in the past generations. He also believes that its common sense to use the Lagna position because of the ascendants importance in shaping the overall horoscope, and its more personal nature since its so time sensitive. When looking at my own horoscope I can definitely see that the Lagana Dasha sequence for my life DOES seem to give an accurate depiction of the sequences in my life , but so do the Moon Dashas. For example I went through a pretty severe depression in the mid 1990's.From the moon dashas i was in the Venus dasha with the saturn sub period. From the Asc doshas i was in Saturn major and mercury sub period.Because my chart has a packed 12th house with the sun, venus, ketu, and mercuryin virgo, and my saturn is in the 7th house and debilitated , i suppose both of these dasha systems could apply....... Has anyone on the list used dashas from the Lagna and found them to be effective ? Any input is welcome......Zamani Do You ? Find a job, post your resume on Careers.
