Guest guest
Overview of coming "Dasha Merge" feature Part 3 of 3 ------------------- In this large picture you see a number of things. In the top section, you see one window opened on another. This is to show you "instantiation", which means, that this new version, allows you to open multiple of the same window, and they all work independently. So, you can have one window merging your dashas, and another merging you with your spouse or whomever and so on, or just separate different people. Only memory limits this "instances" of a window or windows, the reasonable limits being something like 40 windows at a time say, so there really is no limit that will actually affect you. The new version is very powerful in windowing in general. Then, the top window is the results list. This is the merged dashas. I am using the unfamiliar but dear to me "icon view". You can also have the more familiar glyphs. On that window, you see the expected start dates and times on the left, then the dashas planets or signs glyphs or icons, then the totals for the planets (signs lords are counted), then on the far right you see the persons events entered previously if any showing on the appropriate lines in the dashas. Because you can merge up to six dashas, or repeat one, with various settings, you could here examine 360 verse 365 (I'm adding more options here probably), along with your events. When you click on a line, a number of things happen. Firstly, in the bottom of the window, you see where the planets were on that date, as if it's an ephemeris. That's the black and colored square on the bottom of the window in the top half of the picture. RIght of that, you see a graph, which shows how the planets totalled in terms of control on the clicked line. This is a visual that may or may not be useful to you. I find it possibly helpful in a general sort of way. In the lower half of this picture, there are 3 separate windows. From left to right they are: Just a chart window, currently showing my chart and "Specific Transits" on the outter ring. Middle window: The Pallette which controls chart windows. Right: A standard dasha window. This is a highly responsive, very functional, powerful, dasha window, which like many other key windows, is instantiable, meaning, have as many open as you like, for the same or different people. The controls on it are powerful. The real reason these three windows are in the picture is to demonstrate a key feature- the "Align all" feature. When I click on a line in the top window, the Merge, all other windows linked to that person (me in this case), currently open, are "Aligned" by the date on the line I clicked upon. So, I clicked the line, and the outer wheel on the chart window sprung to show the transits on that date, and the dasha window hilited that date. The middle window, currently on the pane that controls the outer ring, or "Spec Tran Pane" on the pallete, shows that date. So, the end result of this, is that you can definitely merge dashas, various dashas, from various people or one person, by lagna or moon (or other possibly) and by 360 or 365 (or other), and this instantiable (you can have many open) window or feature can send messages to and thus align and control other windows. You could have a whole family of persons charts and dashas open, then merge them, then click on key events that affected the whole family, and see how the transits and dashas of each person were running at the time. Family research, group research, compatibility, and such things become much more lucid. I don't think anything comes close to these kinds of features and functionality, and interface, ever seen in astrology software on Earth. I'm proud of what I have been able to do. It's alot due to the advances in programming technology, mainly "OOPS" or Object Oriented Programming techniques, studying which is a good deal of what took this version so long. But I think this is my astro swan song anyway, so it's worth it. There are a number of features like this one in the new version, which I feel are simply wonderful, amazing, inter-related, and revolutionary, including simple things like how it manages your lists of charts. You can expect this kind of modern, sophisticated and elegant interface throughout. Things like inter-relativity, drag and drop, multi-windowing, instantiation of features, and so on, are all fairly standard.
