Guest guest
Hi Chris When i started to study vedic astrology, the Brihat Parasara Hora was not yet translated. I had to rely on other astrologers like Raman and others to read what Parasara said. Meanwhile, i learned a lot from them. In the course of my studies i have read that some astrologers in South India base their readings in only navamsa charts. They do not read anything else and their predictions are accurate. As long as the medicine cures you, who cares about what, how or why? I have come across astrologers that do not consult ephemeris or charts to give accurate predictions to one person. How do they do that?...It is their secret. To give you an example, one day an astrologer was on the phone and said "I have to go now cos someone with a very important message to you is going to ring you". Well enough, one minute later, a person rings giving important news on the tel. In my own experience i have looked into many astrological tools but it is impossible for me to learn all of them. By being practical, i follow what is producing the best results by experience. I have not used Lunar paralax and i think that it is not for me. But who knows?, it may be good for you and in 20-30 years time parhaps that is the only thing that you are going to use with correct predictions and help, or perhaps you may find after 6 or 12 months that it does not work. You are free to investigate and practice what you want. If you want to waste your time, it is your own risk. <<One interesting consequence of this debate and others like it, is that it is nearly impossible to figure out which approach to a chart is the correct one if the participants are using different parameters andinstruments. How can we tell if the astrologer who uses parallax correctedMoon dashas is more accurate than the one who does not? How can we tell ifKP practitioner is right in his assertion that a native is Libra rising while the Parasharan astrologer insists on Virgo? We can't because they are using different words, even different languages to state their cases.>>In this case i will listen to the debate and see how the point is given by taking into consideration the skills of the presenter and look into the essence of things before drawing a conclusion. For example, there are some astrologers that have a very good skill in writting in English and presenting their case, so they can impress those that do not know much about that matter, but under analisis, they have errors of especulation. As a native speaking Spanish, i have seen that many times. Some of my teachers told me to learn the art of reading the intention of the individual. In this materialistic society we are told how to learn to read the world of appearances, the external world. That can be a good help but experience tell us that frustration comes in many times when we use that tool. When we learn to read the intentions, things may be hard to see in the beginning but more rewarding. Intentions are connected to the 5th house and previous lifes. I have been told of some great astrologers that walk around without any books or computers and just by looking at a person, hearing the person or reading from the person, they can see the past, present and future of that person. How do they do that? They have Divine grace. When the Pandavas came out of the court of the kurus some 5,000 years ago, they heard that it was war. Bhima, the stronger of them came out of the court with his fists closed, indicating that he was going to smash his enemies. Sahadeva, one of the twin brothers among the Pandavas was the astrologer, he could see everything. After that fatidic meeting with the Kurus, Sahadeva had not charts or computers with him, he only closed his eyes. He did not want to see the future of the Kurus. And soon after we had the great battle of Kuruksetra and we know now that the Pandavas won to the Kurus. Remember, learn the truth from a bona fide teacher and with a humble attitude. How do you want to learn with a bitter heart? We all are on the same boat, learning, and everyone is receiving lessons according to his/her capacity. I hope this helps. natabara
