Guest guest
Dear Dharmapada, There seems to be some confusion regarding the significations of the various bhavas (houses)...8th house in particular. Whilst I agree the 8th is (rightly) classified as an evil house (dusthana), it's also known as the house of "transformation" and is one of the three "moksha" houses...the others being the 4th and 12th. This house is also connected with scandal and it's lord negatively placed in lagna (or lagna lord afflicted in 8th) can show one who is subject to accusations...false or otherwise, according to the influences on this house. According to the rules of jyotish, this house can signify either great success or great failure. In your own words the greatest success of Prabhupada's movement was during Ketu dasa...... You Wrote: >>>Ketu is there, and the strongresults from the heyday of the Hare Krishna movement are from the Ketu dasha.<<< When you consider the close conjunction of Ketu and 12th lord Jupiter, the fulfilment of Prabhupada's destiny (during this dasa) is evident. Jupiter owns 12th house of "foreign lands" and both JU & KE are conjunct 8th lord Sun (self). So great success/transformation in foreign land could be predicted during this time. The conjunction of 9th lord Mercury, 12th lord Jupiter, and dasa lord Ketu in 10th Dashamsha is further confirmation of the success of this period. Wendy, Since the 8th is the house of death, pious influence over it will tend to give moksha. I'll agree to this signification of the house. Even if we consider the eight house a house of moksha, moksha can also be justified from the Sagittarius lagna. > According to the rules of jyotish, this house can signify either great success or great failure. Yes, but close proximity to a weak and afflicted planet would not enable Ketu to leech much from *that* Jupiter. The vipreet raj yoga really seems to be busted up by the fact that the sun sits in his own sign. The evil lords have to afflict the evil house for the vpreet/opposite effects to happen, i.e., to produce good by destroying the evil of the bad house. > Jupiter owns 12th house of "foreign lands" and both JU & KE are conjunct 8th lord Sun (self). So great success/transformation in foreign land could be predicted during this time. Yes, but this type of interpretation can be made from both charts. It is a matter of picking out an iron-clad event or events that are possible in one and impossible in the other. > > The conjunction of 9th lord Mercury, 12th lord Jupiter, and dasa lord Ketu in 10th Dashamsha is further confirmation of the success of this period. Yes, but the divisional charts are secondary when the result is defined in the rashi chakra. Divisional charts are for decisions on the margin, when there are contradictory indications. The simpler you keep it, the better your predictions! In the Capricorn chart, the rashi doesn't seem to at all define the type of success that Shrila Prabhupada had. I hope I don'tsound too opinionated. Unless I am firm, I won't get my point across. I enjoy this discussion that we are all having. Guest guest
Dear Dharmapada, >>>Yes, but close proximity to a weak and afflicted planet would not enable Ketu to leech much from *that* Jupiter.<<< Please observe that both Jupiter and Ketu are in the nakshatra of Ketu...*this* JU/KE relationship is strong. Guest guest
Dear Dharmapada Also note that for Cap Lagna Jupiter and Ketu are the functional and natural significators for moksha in a mokshaic house .You have the most beautiful harmony of energies in the Cap lagna chart Dharma Lords in Dharma houses , Moksha Lords in Moksha houses and exalted Lagna Lord on the midheaven for exalted deeds .From Krsna comes knowledge ,memory and forgetfulness why would he give Srila Prabhupada the wrong birth details ? Guest guest
Nicholas, Moksha can be easily substatiated in theSagittarius chart, too. Again, it is amatter of gettinga few iron-clad events which can be justified in one chart ( without dancing around ) butnot in the other. Usually, this is always possible. In Brazil, nobody knows their exact birth time. I always have to choose between lagnas and ask questions. Imagine if I dredged up some obscure placement from the navamsha in order to make the decision. It is always a matter of asking questions such as " when did your father die," or " how many younger brothers do you have, " etc. Dharmapada gjlist, "Nicholas" <costa@A...> wrote: > Dear Dharmapada > Also note that for Cap Lagna Jupiter and Ketu are the functional and natural > significators for moksha in a mokshaic house .You have the most beautiful > harmony of energies in the Cap lagna chart Dharma Lords in Dharma houses , > Moksha Lords in Moksha houses and exalted Lagna Lord on the midheaven for > exalted deeds .From Krsna comes knowledge ,memory and forgetfulness why > would he give Srila Prabhupada the wrong birth details ? > Best Wishes' > Nicholas >
