Dear List,

My response to this interesting topic was delayed and almost forgotten due to

other pressing commitments. I agree with Tara that there are conflicting views

regarding the planetary rulership of the Chakras. However I was taught, and

experience has indicated (positively) that what I was taught is correct, that

the list, including bija mantra, is thus:

Base (root) = SA = Vital Energy = LAM

Naval (sacral) = JU = Creativity = VAM

Solar Plexus = MA = Desire/Intention = RAM

Heart = VE = Peace/Love = YAM

Throat = ME = Discernment = HUM

Brow = MO/SU = Knowingness = KSHUM

Crown = = Enlightenment = OUM

I regret my notes don't specify a ruling planet for Crown chakra...perhaps there

isn't one, beyond the wheel of karma?...perhaps Ketu?

Best Wishes,

Wendy

Hare Rama Krishna

Dear Wendy and others!

In my knowledge the

1. Shahasrara chakra (Crown) is ruled by Jupiter as he is the karka for the Dhi

Shakti

2. The Ajna Chakra (between the brow) is ruled by Surya as Shiva resides there.

3. Visuddha chakra (Heart) should be ruled by Mercury as Vishnu stay in the

Hridaya padma

4. Muladhara chakra (Base of Spine) should be ruled by Ketu, the serpent power

which starts from the bottom of the kundalini.

Others I am not sure. Others please add to it....I am still learning, Whatever I

wrote is with my little knowledge....I would appreciate if others correct me!!!

Regards

Sarajit

Dear Sarajit,

Thank you for your contribution. As I said there are innumerable opinions on

this subject. I do respect the knowledge of my teacher and my experience does

seem to confirm that this is correct, however without scriptural confirmation I

cannot say emphatically that what I was taught is correct above all doubt.

I would like to see some scriptural reference before deciding unequivocally

which is correct. If anyone has any references they can offer I'd be grateful.

Best Wishes,

Wendy

Dear List members,

Here is my understanding on this topic,

Ketu cannot rule any chakra since it's a naisargika

Moksha Karaka i.e Ketu's objective is to give realization

by going beyond these energy chakra's.

The 9 planets, except Ketu and Rahu, each rule one of the chakra

depending upon the Karakatwa. Rahu is excluded as it indicates

Materialism and desire which is against Moksha and causes us to

take rebirth.

1. Sahasra Chakra: Top Head : Sun.

Sun is the naisargika (Natural) Atma Karaka. Head is where the atma

reaches the highest level. (Halo on head of all the realized

people :) )

2. Agya Chakra, between brows: Jupiter Aakash tatwa

indicate wisdom and knowledge

3. Visuddhi Chakra: Throat: Saturn Vayu Tatwa indicates speach.

4. Anahatta Chakra: Heart : Moon Indicate feelings and desire

at heart.

5. Nabhi Chakra: Navel: Mars, Agni Tatwa incates Fire, in stomach

to digest food, Anger etc.

6. Swadishtana Chakra: Venus, Jalam Tatwa semen and sexual urge.

7. Mooladhara Chakra: Base of Spine the lowest chakra: Mercury,

Prithwi Tatwa

Better than my explanation

You can read an article from the site

jyotish-news/message/80.

Hope this helps you,

Regards
