Guest guest
I was asked about the grade of the birth datas posted. What grade do I give the Vaisnava birth charts? ----------- Sridhar M. and Prabhupada- from them directly. Both used these times throughout their lives for their own charts. The one for Sri Caitanya I rectified from scriptural references in CC directly, and from Thakur Bhaktivinodes writings on the matter. But CC directly says when he was born, as well as what his chart contained- it directly says "Singha Rasi, Singha Lagna". That's clear. Also, it says, he was born on the full rising eclipsed moon in the month of Phalgun in that year. This is extremely clear. We know exactly when Sri Caitanya was born from his followers. The Lord and His Father, and His immediate Goswami disciples who wrote the CC were all of impeccable intellectual character. So the Lord's chart is not in question. I gave that time just by aligning things as they stated. It's an astronomical undeniable fact that that is the day and time when their was an eclipsed in that month in that year. -- Das Goravani 2852 Willamette St # 353 Eugene OR USA 97405 or Fax: 541-343-0344 "Goravani Jyotish" Vedic/Hindu Astrology Software
Guest guest
Dear Das, I remember, some time ago now, a strong debate on this and another list which revealed there were conflicting opinions regarding the T.O.B. of Sri Prabhupada. If my memory serves me, both sides presented (what they thought) was convincing proof of the correctness of their data. I (personally) am swayed towards the 16.00 birth time, for a myriad of reasons...not the least of which is the physical appearance of Prabhupada...certainly to my mind more indicative of Capricorn lagna than Sagittarius.
