Guest guest
Hello Everyone, This is a Jyotish list, so, that means, we believe in Jyotish here. Jyotish is the eyes of the Vedas, so it is said. This means that Jyotish lets us see the Vedic truth. The Vedic truth is that all is God. This is a fact. There is nothing outside of the Divine Oneness. All souls are only witnesses, and their lives are given to them to witness, but their lives are part of a whole system which is gradually moving towards a finer, higher, better, future. The processes along the way are all educational. Meat eaters will come to find ultimately that they are not meat eaters, as carnage will eventually be left away by one and all. So many bodies come and go in the passage of time, and they offend each other in so many ways. There is no perfection here at this time because of all the claws and teeth, lusts, passions, etc. Humans can discuss as we are, but they are still very much fleshy animals too, subject to all sorts of pushings, urges, lusts, etc. They too cannot control themselves actually through pure intellect, just as a tiger certainly cannot. To find a human who can fully control their perceptive and working senses through their purified intellect is indeed extremely rare. Instead, rather, unfortunately, we are all subject to passions. Many have the passion to consume meat, and many are not even willing to question that animals are put here to be killed and eaten. For those of us with a finer sense of justice and right to life, this is appalling. Slaughterhouses where cows are slaughtered are as offensive to me as genocide against humans. But make no mistake, everyone is innocently acting under the karmas they were given to perform. This is Jyotish. This does not make everyone spiritual or perfect, it just makes them souls, and innocent at that, if you wish to have the highest vision. So it is said to "hate the sin but not the sinner". Still, it is the duty of one and all to continue with their assigned lives. So it is my assigned life to stand up for Vedic philosophy, Krishna Consciousness, etc., and for someone else, like Max, it's to wave the flag. Whatever you are, you have to do it, you will do it, it's inevitable. When one is truly blessed, they come to the level of devotion to Divinity in it's various forms, and they can see how offensive in general souls are to each other. Such a person becomes soft in heart, and wishes good for all. They have no more agression, nor do they strongly "want" anything at all. They really just want to be happy, to share love with others, to partake in simple things like singing, dancing, laughing, loving, cooking, farming, worshipping God, artwork, etc. They do not desire complex things nor artificial things, so much of which has been created in the last century. Such persons take to vegetarianism as easily as children generally do. Generally, children are against killing, and it's interesting, but you can make children into vegetarians with barely effort at all. They drop meat as soon as you make it clear to them where it came from, and show them that it's "mean" to "kill kitty or birdy" and eat him. They will often start crying for having ever eaten meat, etc. But of course, their parents come along momentarily and spoil the fun. Anyway, we must be like children to re-enter the play pallace of Sri Krishna and his associates. So, in the higher births, vegetarianism becomes normal. Beyond that, actually, there is no plant killing either. The ultimate vegetarian is the "sexual picker". That means, he eats only the sex organs of plants, that is, the fruits, flowers, seeds, nuts, etc., the reproductive portions of plants, which fall freely when ripe. In the spiritual world, it is said, in the Bhagavatam, that their are gigantic fruits that create rivers of juice when they fall... yum. It is actually possible to eat now on earth without killing even plants, but it is alot of work in our current societies. In order to carry the least karma with you as you pass from this life, it is best to try, as best you can, to increase more and more your service to Sri Krishna or your like chosen Lord, and thus burn up whatever karma you are accruing in Their Divine Service, so that you will be protected. Sri Krishna promises to protect His devotees. So even if your life is not karmicly pure and perfect, which is so impossible to ensure, still, if you are SINCERE and HONEST in your attempts at purifying your life and performing constant service, then you will be protected fully. This is the key to successful spiritual life. Not caring at all about this, is a sure way to accrue karma and return here again. I am so very pleased to host a list where vegetarianism is defended, and honored for the sake of AHIMSA, the first principle of respect for souls, as it is being so here these days. I offer my sincere respects to you all from my heart. -- Das Goravani 2852 Willamette St # 353 Eugene OR USA 97405 or Fax: 541-343-0344 "Goravani Jyotish" Vedic/Hindu Astrology Software
