Guest guest
Namaste Robert Regarding your answer to Visti on 2 Oct 2001. I have to say that good or bad is in the eyes of the beholder. >Dear Robert, Namaste. >I don't understand how can Maheswara give problems and >death? I would rather consider his presence a >blessing! > >Please correct my understanding. >Best wishes, Visti. Let me give my own experience. You say that <<Death is of course a blessing, when the transmigration involves the direct blessings of God or his associates>> Mahesvara is indeed Lord Shiva and he can give blessings. You say. <<. The lord of the 8th from the Atmakaraka is a special Rudra, and since he has a malefic sway over the house of longevity counted therefrom, he thus is very dangerous to life and longevity. >From my chart, Saturn is the lord of the 8th from atmakaraka and although saturn is the best benefic for Virgo rising, Saturn nevertheless is a Rudra. During my period of Saturn, atmakaraka sub-period and inter lord of the 3/8, i almost died. I was in hospital and I thought "this is it". Death is something that we do not have control, everything in there is in charge of great demigods working in the service of the Lord. In my delirium i thought that perhaps i could escape death by telling them that i forgot my tooth brush and i had to go for it and perhaps i could hide later. But we are so vulnerable in that position. I could not even walk or have the energies to move. We are dying and the demigods are in control. I knew my horoscope and i just waited for the outcome because i do not have control of that. It was very dark but i could "feel" 4 persons like in a panel reading my heart. I thought that i have finished my work here and that i was ready to go to my next destination which is in their hands. It could be Devaloka, Pitriloka, Tiryaloka or Yamaloka depending on my lessons to learn. I was ready to be born again in any of the 8.400,000 especies of life. Then like in telephaty, i heard that it was not my time yet to go. I complained because i knew i had to come back here to suffer for a little while, but i was not in a position to say anything but to accept their authority. We are used to authorities on this mortal level but the demigods have much more power in that level. The structure of power and service is more balanced than here. In that level, everyone is concious that they are working for the service of God. So, good or bad, death or life, death or blessings. We are travelling and learning. I hope that this story is helpful. Best wishes Natabara Das
Guest guest
Namaste Natabara, Thank you for your very interesting and poignant story regarding your almost dying during the dasa of Maheswara in chart, which according to you, turns out to be Saturn. Yes, the lord of the 8th from the AK qualifies as Maheswara, and can do real harm during his dasas, or dashas of rashis aspected by him. Also, the dasas of rashis which are in tine position to Maheswara, similarly can bring death. If the term of longevity has not arrived, which evidently is the case in your chart, then the experience of Maheswara becomes "near-death", or some other kind of challenging/vexing situation. There are some special rules vis a vis calculation of Maheswara also: 1. If the 8th lord from AK is in the 8th itself, then he is not Maheswara, but qualifies to be the Brahma planet, i.e. the Creator. (There are separate calculations for Brahma, however, if this situation does not apply). 2. If the 8th lord from AK is in own sign or exalted, then the 8th or 12th lord from him, whichever is stronger, becomes Maheswara. 3. If either Rahu or Ketu is with the AK, or in the 8th from the AK, then the lord of the 6th becomes Maheswara (The nodes force the counting to the backward 8th, which is the 6th going forward). 4. If either Rahu or Ketu becomes Maheswara as per the above rules, then Rahu is replaced by Mercury, and Ketu is replaced by Jupiter. [be very careful to note that Rahu/Ketu are respective co-rulers of Aq and Sc, and thus when you are making these determinations of lordship, always take the stronger of Rahu/Saturn, and Ketu/Mars. Thus sometimes Rahu or Ketu will become Maheswara, instead of Saturn or Mars]. Study Maharshi Jaimini Upadesa Sutras (the best translation.commentary is by Sanjay Rath, and is available from most book sellers), to get these and many other details on Brahma, Maheswara, and Rudra, and their applications in Ayur (longevity) Jyotish.
