Guest guest
A note from the list owner: This is not JUST a jyotish list, so, true, you can discuss other things IF they are related to jyotish or vedic spiritual life, philosophy, science, wisdom, meditation, life path, astronomy, etc etc... Naturally, these days we want to talk about this attack, war, all these things. Every one of us feels the subtle agressive waves in the air, is aware of the news, and nervous, anxious, or some such emotions. Present on this list are ultra spiritualists, who will have sides to them that sound a bit socialistic, communistic, or a new one for some of you perhaps "Divine Theocratic Anarchy", or some the older Varna Ashram Dharma Government of Ancient India. There are others on this list IN THE US MILITARY. There are Moslems on this list who live in United Arab Emirates, Dubai, Bahrain, Pakistan, you name it. There is one lady here born in a bomb shelter while we shelled Nazi Germany. There are Vietnamese on this list, and basically, the 500+ people on this list come from all over the world. I guarantee you that there are a significant number of people on this list who agree with some of what Islamic Heavys say. There are people here who are ultra Hindu. The world doesn't know it so clearly, but Ultra Hindu is also pretty intense to Westerners if you were to really know what that's all about. So how to deal? It's best if you don't make intense statements about countries, peoples, races, religions, or what we/us/they/you/I are going to do to other peoples. It's best to keep it an intellectual discussion. Kasi V: I suggest you not express your views about America, even though many on the list you know agree with you on those things, as America-bashing is not uncommon. Still, it's better not to express those views here, as you will really excite some people. It's also good if the super Pro American people hold back their zeal in like response. Lets show that intellectualism, love, sharing and a peaceful mood can work here at least. Discussions regarding multi-national corporations effects on the world are very interesting, but perhaps this is not the place. People have to be very educated on those matters to discuss them meaningfully anyway. I have lots of fears about things too- whether it's Religious Extremists who hate me because of the country I was born in, which isn't my "fault", or multi national corporations that are insensitive to the cultures and peoples they nest their operations amongst, or whatever. But expressing them here as conclusive would be a mistake. Don't fight. Please. Kasi, do not respond to the question "How dare you", please. Don't. You should not have bashed America as you did, on this list anyway, because especially at a time like this, with the list being mostly Americans, it's definitely a provocative thing to do. You may be right, but that's not a public truth. 'Right' is an opinion. I do wish to restress that there are many on this list who agree with parts of any intense religious position. This is a religiously rich group. I being one of those. I am not 100% insensitive to the feelings of Bin Laden. No, I'm not. I have lived all over the world. I know from first hand experience how and why many people's of the worlds do not like America. I understand their reasonings. But I was born here, and it's got it's really great points and qualities. I truly wish to encourage everyone to not fight on this list. I will immediately anyone who is really not trying to hold back. Please remain intellectual, respectful, and don't bite back. If someone blows it, don't fight back. Do no PROPOGATE a mistaken attack. Just let it go with Delete, take a deep breath, think of something eternal, forget it, and get on with positivity. Namaste dear dasji!! sorry i got your letter AFTER i had already responded to the previous letter...please forgive me...if i had read your letter before hand i would have followed your suggestions....i will say NO MORE in this topic...i promise. i totally sympathise with your views about this list...but was definitely feeling a need to respond to the statements of violence and aggression.....i personally feel that it is good for America to know how the rest of the world views it...because only then can some changes for the better be made...if left in your isolationist dreamland of America the Beautiful....how can anyone possibly make any positive changes? How can we grow to be adorable, merging in that Sacred Om, if indeed we are not willing to look at the character flaws of our countries, and in our ownselves??? that said, please forgive me for responding before i got your message!!! i shall say no more about the topic!!! in the Divine Mother's Love, and in Her Service, as ever, your own self, visvanathan Om Amrtesvaryai Namah!
